If one wants to “promote care” of handicapped persons at HUG, places free of electromagnetic (EM) waves should be created to treat electrosensitive persons (estimated to be 5% of the population). These persons, sensitive to the radiation emitted by Wi-Fi and other wireless technologies, cannot be treated at hospitals because this type of radiation saturates treatment rooms and even patient rooms. Everyone could become electrosensitive.

Do You Give Your Cell Phone to Your Child?

Do you give your Cell Phone to your Child?
by Dr. Sapna Nagpalnewdelhitimes.com,
 October 31, 2017

Today’s children are growing up in a radio-frequency environment that never existed in human history before. Mobile phones have become a widespread phenomenon in the present time. Not just the adults, this technology is affecting the kids as well.

Do you give your children your cell phone whenever he cries? Does your child spend long hours using smart phone? Do you think it is harmless to give the mobile phone to children? If yes, then you may have to think twice before doing so! Let’s learn more about the impact of mobile phones on children.

Suspicions about Mobile Phones by Pierre Le Hir, Le Monde, 23 December 2016

The levels of radiofrequency exposure announced by manufacturers are exceeded during actual conditions of use Among Christmas purchases, mobile phones feature prominently without consumers being clearly warned about their exposure to the radiofrequencies of these devices and their potential dangers.

This is because the data provided by manufacturers are based on tests conducted in the laboratory following procedures very different from the actual conditions of mobile phone use. This is what “anti-wave” militants are denouncing today, seeing this as “an industrial and health scandal” similar to “dieselgate”. A « phonegate » then? In the current case, it is not strictly speaking a question of cheating, but rather a muddling of information given to users, favoring lax regulation. The health implications are none the less important. The World Health Organization (WHO) has classified radiofrequencies as “possibly carcinogenic to humans”. In a July 2016 report, the National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health Safety (ANSES) considers these waves have “possible effects on the cognitive function and well-being” of young people.

5G is the technology that promises to tie together the Internet of Things (IoT). So, if you're one of the millions who crave faster internet downloads, or if you require constant contact between your mobile and fridge, then 5G is the “solution” at hand.

Around the nation, state legislatures are rapidly firing bills to streamline the massive deployment of 5G wireless infrastructure, preempting local authority in favor of the telecom industry’s financial interests. But is this economic and regulatory battle the whole story?

Last week, California Governor Jerry Brown (D) took a bold step in vetoing SB 649, 5G streamlining legislation that would have granted the telecom industry a green light to place a mini cell tower approximately every hundred yards throughout the state.

Every time we intend to call, text or look for the updates on social networking apps, we add to the global carbon footprint

Not long ago, only a few people could afford a cell phone. But today, even a kid who can barely talk, knows how to operate it. We are so engrossed in the unique numerous apps that we do not bother thinking about effect of them on our lives and environment. There is no denying that they connect us to the world where everything is advancing in glimpse of seconds, but have we ever considered the impacts of these wireless phones on the surroundings we live in? The aim of my writing is neither to go in depth of calculating carbon footprint of entire life cycle of mobile phone nor to address the issue of e-waste management. Rather, the prime focus is to make people conscious about their contribution for achieving global goals, by considering climate action as their key priority.

The prestigious British medical journal The Lancet just released a sobering report on the world’s dangerous problem of pollution.

In an editorial about that report, Lancet editors Pamela Das and Richard Horton accused U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Administrator Scott Pruitt and his agency of “undermining established environmental regulations.”

This criticism of a climate change denier in bed with the polluting industries his agency is meant to regulate is a shot across the bow, warning that the rest of the world no longer views the United States under the administration of Donald Trump as a leader on world environmental, economic, and health issues.

When Annie Dennison was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, she readily followed advice from her medical team, agreeing to harsh treatments in the hope of curing her disease.

“You’re terrified out of your mind” after a diagnosis of cancer, said Dennison, 55, a retired psychologist from Orange County, Calif.

In addition to lumpectomy surgery, chemotherapy and other medications, Dennison underwent six weeks of daily radiation treatments. She agreed to the lengthy radiation regimen, she said, because she had no idea there was another option.

Medical research published in The New England Journal of Medicine in 2010 — six years before her diagnosis — showed that a condensed, three-week radiation course works just as well as the longer regimen. A year later, the American Society for Radiation Oncology, which writes medical guidelines, endorsed the shorter course.

UPDATE 28 October 2017:  "EU nations have postponed a vote on whether to ban the continued use of the popular weed killer glyphosate amid concerns about its possible links to cancer. EU member nations decided not to vote on extending the weed killer's license after the European Parliament backed a move to limit a license renewal to five years. The EU's executive Commission had earlier proposed a license extension of ten years. The next meeting to make a decision will likely be on 6 November, officials said."  (Ref: "EU delays decision on banning glyphosate weed killer despite cancer fears")

by Alice Park, Time, 26 October 2017

The latest study to look at the long-term effects of Roundup, a popular weed killer developed by Monsanto in the 1970s, raises questions about the herbicide’s possible contributions to poor health in certain communities.

The study, published Tuesday in JAMA, tracked people over the age of 50 in southern California from 1993-1996 to 2014-2016, with researchers periodically collecting urine samples during that time.

Researchers led by Paul Mills, professor of family medicine and public health at the University of California San Diego, found that the percentage of people who tested positive for a chemical called glyphosate, which is the active ingredient in the herbicide Roundup, shot up by 500% in that time period. The levels of glyphosate also spiked by 1208% during that time.

"There’s a growing recognition that much else is going on above us—and has been for a long time. Rhode Island Tackles ‘Geoengineering’
by Mark Anderson, americanfreepress.net,
27 October 2017

No longer dismissed as “conspiracy theory nonsense,” Rhode Island’s general assembly is concerned enough that geoengineering, or “intentional manipulation of the environment,” involves “hazardous activities that can harm human health and safety, the environment, and the economy . . .” that they passed a bill to regulate all geoengineering activities.

In late September, Rhode Island became the first state to enact legislation that calls on officials to examine how atmospheric-modification programs, commonly referred to as “geoengineering,” are affecting the Earth. The measure in question is the Geoengineering Act of 2017 (H. 6011), which was introduced by state Rep. Justin Price (R) earlier this year.

“The Rhode Island general assembly finds that geoengineering encompasses many technologies and methods involving hazardous activities that can harm human health and safety, the environment, and the economy of the state of Rhode Island. . .. It is therefore the intention of the Rhode Island general assembly to regulate all geoengineering activities,” the bill says.

Challenges for Physicians

mdsafetech.wordpress.com, posted October 2017

It seems impossible to many physicians that non-ionizing radiation would cause biophysical symptoms. Patient reported health concerns are often dismissed as coincidence (e.g. cell phone use and brain cancer), or psychological (e.g. someone reporting electrosensitivity symptoms near devices), or stress related (e.g. a couple that is infertile). There also seems to be endless controversy surrounding adverse health effects from wireless devices. Physicians want to help patients and not give them incorrect advice or fan their fears. After all, one cannot see, hear or feel electromagnetic radiation. People must be “a bit off” to think effects could be caused by electronic gadgets we have used for years, right? Well, as it turns out, research from credible, unbiased sources indicates clear harm from microwave radio frequency radiation we are exposed to.

Three of the most prominent minds in modern science have joined forces to produce a document that reformulates how electromagnetism affects living organisms and the failure - through intent or ignorance or indifference - of science, governments and big business to protect all living things.

Their findings - three years in the formulation - explain how health and well-being are damaged / destroyed by artificial electromagnetic radiation and that the present standard of measuring radiation - the Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) which is based on acute heating effects - is totally inappropriate when considering the effects of modern microwave-based technology in everything from microwave ovens, cell phones, wi-fi and pulsed signals such as Wi-MAX and Tetra.

In effect, the three men are saying the entire edifice of monitoring electromagnetic radiation is faulty because the monitoring system is trying to measure the wrong thing.

'Sport is a club and people don't have to join the club if they don't want to'

The head of an association of Olympic athletes wants to require anyone who participates in the Summer or Winter Games to be implanted with a tracking chip to prevent the use of performance-enhancing drugs.

Mike Miller, CEO of the World Olympians Association, remarked recently at an anti-doping forum in London that athletes should accept digital implants or be barred from Olympic-level competition, according to the Guardian of London.

“Some people say it’s an invasion of privacy,” Miller said. “Well, sport is a club and people don’t have to join the club if they don’t want to, if they can’t follow the rules.”

Consumer privacy expert Liz McIntyre, co-author of “Spychips: How Major Corporations and Government Plan to Track Your Every Purchase and Watch Your Every Move,” called Miller’s proposal “outrageous,” insisting “no human being should ever be forced to accept a tracking implant to fully participate in society.”

Bill Gates and Steve Jobs Raised Their Kids Tech-Free - And It Should've Been a Red Flag
by CHRIS WELLER, BUSINESS INSIDER, 25 October 2017

  • Interviews with Bill Gates, Steve Jobs, and other tech elites consistently reveal that Silicon Valley parents are strict about technology use.
  • A new book suggests the signs may have been clear years ago that smartphone use should be regulated.
  • There may be a way to integrate tech into the classroom, however, that avoids its harmful effects.

Psychologists are quickly learning how dangerous smartphones can be for teenage brains.

Research has found that an eighth-grader's risk for depression jumps 27% when he or she frequently uses social media. Kids who use their phones for at least three hours a day are much more likely to be suicidal. And recent research has found the teen suicide rate in the US now eclipses the homicide rate, with smartphones as the driving force.

But the writing about smartphone risk may have been on the wall for roughly a decade, according to educators Joe Clement and Matt Miles, coauthors of the recent book "Screen Schooled: Two Veteran Teachers Expose How Technology Overuse is Making Our Kids Dumber."

WIRELESS mobile phones, laptops and tablets could be causing major health problems in children and contributing to autism and hyperactivity, a new study warns.

The devices, which even include baby monitors, emit radiation and electromagnetic fields that pierce thin skulls, harming memory, learning and other mental skills, warn doctors.

Developing grey matter is more absorbent in children than adults with their genes and DNA especially vulnerable to the dangerous radio waves.

It provides an explanation for the increase in autism and ADHD (attention deficit hyperactivity disorder) among youngsters.

Insects have triumphed for hundreds of millions of years in every habitat but the ocean. Their success is unparalleled, which makes their disappearance all the more alarming

Thirty-five years ago an American biologist Terry Erwin conducted an experiment to count insect species. Using an insecticide “fog”, he managed to extract all the small living things in the canopies of 19 individuals of one species of tropical tree, Luehea seemannii, in the rainforest of Panama. He recorded about 1,200 separate species, nearly all of them coleoptera (beetles) and many new to science; and he estimated that 163 of these would be found on Luehea seemannii only.

Washington State Adopts Tower Worker Safety Rules

The most significant change is the new wireless section, which covers radio-frequency hazards (non-ionizing radiation). Non-ionizing radiation can pose a considerable health risk to workers if not properly controlled.

Washington State Adopts Tower Worker Safety Rules
ohsonline.com, 23 October 2017

L&I said the most important change is a new wireless section that covers non-ionizing radiation. The rules contain requirements covering expected hazards of tower work, host employer/contractor responsibilities, microwave/laser technology, control of hazardous energy, working during darkness, fall protection, remote cell tower sites, and emergency response and rescue.
The Washington state Department of Labor & Industries has adopted new rules to protect workers who climb cell towers from safety and health hazards, making Washington the third state in the nation to adopt rules that encompass emerging telecommunication technology, according to the department. Its announcement said the adoption is the last step in a multi-year effort to update the state's 40-year-old telecommunication rules, and the new rules will take effect Jan. 1, 2018.

Pollution Linked to One in Six Deaths

Pollution linked to one in six deaths
by Katie Silver, Health reporter, BBC News, 20 October 2017

Pollution has been linked to nine million deaths worldwide in 2015, a report in The Lancet has found.

Almost all of these deaths occurred in low- and middle-income countries, where pollution could account for up to a quarter of deaths. Bangladesh and Somalia were the worst affected.

Air pollution had the biggest impact, accounting for two-thirds of deaths from pollution.

Brunei and Sweden had the lowest numbers of pollution-related deaths.

Most of these deaths were caused by non-infectious diseases linked to pollution, such as heart disease, stroke and lung cancer.

Hackers Are Targeting Schools, U.S. Department of Education Warns

Hackers are targeting schools, U.S. Department of Education warns
by Selena Larson @selenalarsonmoney.cnn.com, 18 October 2017

When Superintendent Steve Bradshaw first received a threatening text message in mid-September, he didn't know it was coming from a hacker trying to exploit his Montana school district.

But soon, students and other schools around Flathead County were receiving threatening messages, too. More than 30 schools in the district shutdown for three days.

"The messages weren't pleasant messages," Bradshaw said. "They were 'splatter kids' blood in the hallways,' and things like that."

The U.S. Department of Education is now warning teachers, parents, and K-12 education staff of a cyberthreat targeting school districts across the country.

So far, at least three states have been targeted by the extortion attempt from hackers asking schools to give them money or the group will release stolen private records, according to the department.

"In some cases, this has included threats of violence, shaming, or bullying the children unless payment is received," the department wrote in an advisory this week.

Can your favorite wireless devices increase your risk of heart disease?

Scientists at ORSAA respond to a new study reporting a significant increase in heart attacks in patients without established risk factors

Dr. Priyanka Bandara and Mr. Steven Weller from Oceania Radiofrequency Scientific Advisory Association (ORSAA) have recently published in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology highlighting the scientific evidence linking ‘wireless radiation’ to cardiovascular disease (CVD). This paper, titled “Cardiovascular disease: Time to identify emerging environmental risk factors”, focuses on the existing evidence for an increased risk of CVD in people exposed to wireless radiation (radiofrequency electromagnetic radiation or RF-EMR). The paper urges clinical cardiology research studies to investigate this issue further, because human exposure to this environmental pollutant has highly increased over the last three decades due to the widespread deployment of wireless communications infrastructure and the use of personal wireless devices . MINEOLA, N.Y. (CBSNewYork) — Long Island residents are raising health concerns as cellphone transmission equipment continues to be installed in many areas.

As CBS2’s Jennifer McLogan reported, some neighbors are joining together to fight towers going up close to their homes, schools and houses of worship.

Jodi and Peter Abraham anxiously clutched their just-filed federal lawsuit as they walked out of Nassau County Supreme Court Thursday, challenging hundreds of unregulated and wireless facilities, still going up by the dozens across Huntington and Oyster Bay.

“We are not anti-tech. We are not anti-cellphone,” Peter Abraham said. “But we believe cell towers should be put up in a responsible way.”

Phonegate: Dr. George Carlo Supports International Action

Phonegate:  Dr. George Carlo Supports International Action
by Marc Arazi, arazi.fr, 20 October 2017

Message from Marc Arazi: "Yesterday in Paris, where he made a brief stop, I had the great pleasure of meeting Dr. George Carlo, world-renowned scientist and precursor in 1999 of the information on the health risks of mobile telephony. At the time, Dr. Carlo led an important study for industry, costing more than 20 million dollars. A courageous person and scientist of integrity, he has not hesitated to expose the dangers that his studies have shown. It is a real honor to be able to work with him on this public health issue. He gladly agreed to leave this short video message [in English] to support the international action against the health and industrial scandal of Phonegate. Many thanks, George!"

Did an Obsolete, Poorly Maintained Power Grid Spark California Fires?
by Harvey Wasserman, Truth Dig,
17 October 2017

The raging fires and toxic smoke clouds pouring through Northern California can only be described as apocalyptic.

Were they sparked by Pacific Gas & Electric’s centralized grid?

And where are our federal government and national media?

More than 40 people are dead; many more are missing. Given how fast the fires raced through the region, it’s possible that other humans—as well as farm animals, pets and wildlife—have been incinerated.

In many cases, the margin for escape was five minutes or less. Some people who did not leave their homes at the first sign of danger died. Some stood in home swimming pools for hours while everything burned around them. Flames leaped over Highway 101 and other major roads, creating firestorms with temperatures of 1,200 degrees Fahrenheit and more.

ANNAPOLIS, Md. — As wireless communication increasingly becomes a way of life, some health advocates say there is little-to-no communication about the health risks associated with radiation emitted by devices such as cellphones.

Theodora Scarato, executive director at the Environmental Health Trust, organized a rally at the U.S. Supreme Court to proclaim the public's right to know about the dangers of wireless communications.

"I think the public has the right to know that these devices emit radiation,” Scarato said. “But we need to do more than that. We need to be contacting our elected officials, you know, calling that we be informed, that there be public notice and public hearings."

7 Ways EMF Technology Seriously Threatens Entire Populations

7 Ways EMF Technology Seriously Threatens Entire Populations
Posted by M M , galacticconnection.com, 10 October 2017

HUMANS ARE FREE

Recently, over 180 medics and scientists sent a document to the European Union appealing for the suspension of the new 5G EMF technology planned to roll out. Essentially, the 11 page document warns that EMF technology is a serious environmental hazard, harmful to life.

That the new 5G EMF technology has not been properly tested for safety and has been blindly approved without health evaluation. The medics and scientists call for a proper health evaluation and while being carried out a suspension of the 5G.

However, the unconditional push for EMF technology continues. The push involves a number of individuals, particularly those in high places, biased and blinded by money or the want for control, only seeing the EMF technology’s advantages.

A new study published in the journal PLOS One provides preliminary evidence that smartphones are linked to reduced cognitive abilities. The researchers found intensive smartphone use was associated with reduced math performance in particular.

“I got interested in smartphone behaviors because I noticed that many people, including myself, experienced a change in their personal interactions and social behaviours after purchasing smartphones,” said Aviad Hadar of Ben-Gurion University, the study’s corresponding author.

The latest statistics on teen mental health underscore the urgency of this debate.

Between 2010 and 2016, the number of adolescents who experienced at least one major depressive episode leapt by 60%, according to a nationwide survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. The 2016 survey of 17,000 kids found that about 13% of them had a major depressive episode, compared to 8% of the kids surveyed in 2010. Suicide deaths among people age 10 to 19 have also risen sharply, according to the latest data from the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Young women are suffering most; a CDC report released earlier this year showed suicide among teen girls has reached 40-year highs. All this followed a period during the late-1990s and early 2000s when rates of adolescent depression and suicide mostly held steady or declined.

Monsanto's 'Jaw-Dropping' Deception Exposed in 'Whitewash'

Monsanto's 'Jaw-Dropping' Deception Exposed in 'Whitewash'
by Stacy Malkan, U.S. Right to Know / EcoWatch, 10 October 2017

Carey Gillam's new book is available now from Island Press: Whitewash: The Story of a Weed Killer, Cancer, and the Corruption of Science.

Gilliam's Whitewash is a hard-hitting investigation into the most widely used agrichemical in history, based on 20 years of research and scores of internal industry documents. For decades, glyphosate has been lauded as the chemical that's "safe enough to drink," but a growing body of scientific research ties glyphosate to cancers and a host of other health and environmental threats.

Whitewash is a "must-read," sayid Booklist. Kirkus Reviews called Whitewash a "hard-hitting, eye-opening narrative," and a "forceful argument for an agricultural regulatory environment that puts public interest above corporate profits."

Q: Carey, you've been reporting on pesticides and Monsanto for nearly 20 years. As a journalist, why was it important to write a book about the topic? Why now?

A U.S. government proposal to improve cellphone service at Yellowstone National Park, including the installation of microwave dish antennas, will mar views at one of the park’s most scenic spots, Mt. Washburn, an environmental group said on Thursday.

A Toxic Cellphone Stew

"Not in doubt is the cellphone's farm-to-table toxicity. From the day its minerals are dug to the night children scavenge Third World dumps for used circuitry, the cellphone is a Frankenstein."

WESTPORT, Conn. — Enough about software; let's talk hardware. Is Sen. John McCain's glioblastoma, like the one that took Ted Kennedy's life in 2009, related in any way to the use of his cellphone? Is the mobile phone, the motherlode of media usage today, carried by 95 percent of Americans, as environmentally friendly as consumers would like to believe? It's small, svelte and isn't apparently shunned by vegans or eco-warriors among us.

Let's consider its local effects and those across our fragile planet. On the matter of elecromagnetic radiation, studies are inconclusive and ongoing. Last year, the National Toxicology Program of the NIH found that cellphone radiation increased the incidence of gliomas in male rats. Maybe you think you're not in the rat race. But in 2011, a Working Group of the World Health Organization's International Agency for Research on Cancer classified cellphone use as "possibly carcinogenic to humans." The jury is out, but this isn't like the anti-vaccine lobby. Children are, in fact, more prone to radiation injury. To be on the safe side, scientists say, keep your phone away from head and body as much as possible.

Disturbing trends in men’s reproductive health demand urgent attention

A recent meta-analysis by Levine and colleagues1 showing significant declines in sperm counts among men in the Western world caught considerable media attention.2 The Levine study followed a similar report in The BMJ 25 years ago.3 Should we be concerned? Is male reproductive health really at risk?

Meta-analyses have some inherent limitations. However, an important and often overlooked point about data on the quality of semen is that trend data should be interpreted with a holistic view of male reproductive health problems, including parallel trends in testicular germ cell cancer (TGCC). Incidence of this cancer has risen substantially over the past few decades, particularly in young men.4 Increases seem to be occurring even in countries that have had low incidence. TGCC is linked to risk of poor semen quality: reports suggest that countries with a high incidence of this cancer have generally lower semen quality and vice versa.5

Researchers Discover WiFi Vulnerability Affecting Basically Every Device on Earth

They've given it the catchy name of 'Krack Attack'

Consumers have been bombarded by bad news about digital security this year, most recently the massive Equifax data breach revealed in September. Now, security researchers have discovered a problem with how even the best WiFi networks are protected. As far as they know, no criminal has taken advantage of the vulnerability. But, it puts everyone’s web communications at risk.

And that means everyone. The researchers, based out of the University of Leuven in Belgium, say that every WiFi network in every home, office, and coffee shop around the world shares this flaw. And they have given it the catchy name of “Krack Attack.”

Smartphones Are Killing Americans, But Nobody’s Counting

Smartphones Are Killing Americans, But Nobody’s Counting
by  Kyle Stock, Lance Lambert, and David Ingold, Bloomberg, 17 October 2017

Amid a historic spike in U.S. traffic fatalities, federal data on the danger of distracted driving are getting worse.

Jennifer Smith doesn’t like the term “accident.” It implies too much chance and too little culpability.

A “crash” killed her mother in 2008, she insists, when her car was broadsided by another vehicle while on her way to pick up cat food. The other driver, a 20-year-old college student, ran a red light while talking on his mobile phone, a distraction that he immediately admitted and cited as the catalyst of the fatal event.

Belgian Senators Want Recognition for EHS

Belgian senators want recognition for EHS
by Martine Vriens, published on Saturday, October 07, 2017 for Stichting EHS https://stichtingehs.nl/

On May 24, 2017, a resolution was proposed in Belgium to acknowledge EHS. A very important step because, if the resolution is approved, the government will have to indicate what they have done with the resolution and what measures have been taken to protect people – especially with EHS, but also the entire population.

Translated from Dutch by the editors of EMFSA, with permission. The link to the article: https://stichtingehs.nl/blog/141-belgische-senatoren-willen-erkenning-voor-ehs

Proposal

The proposal states that there are numerous testimonies of people with EHS who experience difficulties in every aspect of their lives. An acknowledgment would mean that these people can continue to function in society, because then reasonable adjustments can be made at the workplace and at home. It is also important to consider all consequences on health and any precautionary measures that should be taken for the entire population. It must be ensured that every citizen can choose how often he wants to expose himself to EMR.

California: Governor Jerry Brown Vetoes Bill Easing Permits on Cell Phone Towers

California: Gov. Jerry Brown vetoes bill easing permits on cell phone towers
by TRACY SEIPEL | tseipel@bayareanewsgroup.com | Bay Area News Group, 16 October 2017

(Photo): Gov. Jerry Brown late Sunday vetoed Senate Bill 649, which proposed to scale back local government permit processes for antennas and equipment for wireless services.

SACRAMENTO — A bill co-authored by a Bay Area assemblyman that would have blocked the ability of cities and counties to control the installation of microwave radiation antennas was vetoed just before midnight Sunday by Gov. Jerry Brown.

In a signing statement, Brown wrote: “There is something of real value in having a process that results in extending this innovative technology rapidly and efficiently.”

Nevertheless, he noted, “I believe the interest which localities have in managing rights of way requires a more balanced solution than the one achieved in this bill.”

Brown served as the mayor of Oakland from 1999 to 2007.

Senate Bill 649, authored by Sen. Ben Hueso, D-San Diego and co-authored by Assemblyman Bill Quirk, D-Hayward, proposed to scale back permit processes for antennas and equipment in an effort to meet demand for wireless services.

The bill was primarily supported by the Cellular Telecommunications and Internet Association, the main trade group for the U.S. wireless telecommunications industry. The group said SB 649 would help boost the economy.

Phonegate : Welcome to La La Land !

[Press release] Phonegate : Welcome to la la land !
ba Marc Arazi, http://arazi.fr/, 16 October 2017

As a result of lax and imprecise international standards, hundreds of millions of users of mobile phones that have been placed on the market over the past twenty years are subjected to radiation levels in contact with the body, for some phones, more than three times the threshold limit (ten times with American standards). We now have proof of this, since Dr Arazi obtained the publication on 1 June 2017 of the initial partial results conducted by the French National Frequencies Agency (ANFR) , that our health, especially of younger people, is being deliberately endangered. Despite this, ANFR continues to hide essential informations. There is total inertia on the part of the public authorities despite having been alerted in various ways. It is urgent to inform the more than six billion users, including the French population, of the risks involved and the ways to protect against these risks.

One point in common with the various scandals that have been increasing in recent years, from Médiator to the “Monsanto papers” and Dieselgate, are the many obstacles to acquiring information.

ANFR postpones indefinitely the publication of test reports

Massachusetts: Wi-Fi Hypersensitivity Case Goes Forward

Wi-Fi Hypersensitivity Case Goes Forward
by Alexis Kramer, Bloomberg BNA,
13 October 2017

It’s unclear whether someone can be allergic to Wi-Fi. But regardless of the lack of scientific consensus, a lawsuit over a child’s alleged Wi-Fi sensitivities is moving forward.

The parents of a 12-year-old child had sued a Massachusetts private school for allegedly failing to reasonably accommodate their child’s condition—electromagnetic hypersensitivity syndrome, or EHS. Because of this condition, the parents alleged, the school’s Wi-Fi system gave plaintiff G headaches and nosebleeds, among other symptoms. The parents said the school refused to provide G with a Wi-Fi-free classroom, let G listen to his classes remotely, or let him participate in athletic activities while on medical leave.

Do You Really Believe Your Cell Phone (i.e. Microwave Transceiver) Is NOT Harming Your Health?

Do You Really Believe Your Cell Phone (i.e. Microwave Transceiver) Is NOT Harming Your Health?
by Paul Doyonelectromagneticsafeplanet.com, 12 October 2017

Cell Phones Everywhere

Wherever we go nowadays — in restaurants, cafes, shopping malls, on public transportation, on the street, in their cars, and even on T.V. — we see people engaged, often obsessively, with their wireless devices.

These devices that have made our lives so convenient have, to say the least, indeed also drastically changed our lifestyles, how we interact with each other, and how we behave in public. So if everyone is so utterly engrossed with his or her individual wireless devices without any seemingly overt problems, shouldn’t we not just chalk it up to normal behavior of the modern 21st century? And since our governmental organizations have seamlessly approved the use of these wireless devices, then they must also be safe, right? Well, hold your horses on those two beliefs, as it may very well be way too early to jump the gun on either of these particular conclusions.

After all, fifty years ago, it was quite common — and “normal” — to see people smoking cigarettes in all the places where it is perfectly acceptable for people to be using their wireless devices today. Nowadays, most people would throw a fit if someone invaded their space with second-hand cigarette smoke, but seemingly don’t think twice if someone invades their space with what might be regarded as second-hand electromagnetic radiation.

12 October 2017

  • 5G New Radio connection with 2 gigabits per second
  • Live transmission of ultra-high-definition video over 5G
  • 5G for Augmented Reality: Slot car track with real-time interaction

Four radio cells in the Deutsche Telekom network are demonstrating the future of communication right now. The antennas in Berlin are the first in Europe with a live 5G connection in a real world setting. Using pre-standard 5GNew Radio (5G NR), the future mobile communications component of 5G, the network is achieving throughput of more than two gigabits per second to a single customer device, as well as a latency of three milliseconds on commercial sites in Berlin's Schöneberg district. Extremely high throughput and very short network reaction times are the key capabilities of 5G, which is set to drive forward the development of exciting new applications.

Super-fast 5G network comes to Hamburg, as one of two European test cities
by Lucinda Watts, thelocal.de
28 September 2017

Hamburg has been chosen to test out the super speedy 5G data service, which should be available worldwide by 2020. In the next few weeks, Telecom will start installing an antenna to kick-start the testing process.

The EU is investing €7.7 million into the project and the new 5G service will supposedly be 10 times faster than the current service, downloading up to 10 gigabytes of data per second, according to the Hamburg Abendblatt.

Numerous European cities applied for the grant money, but only Venice and Hamburg were successful. Venice will be testing out the service’s functions for tourists, whereas the 7,200-hectare port will be used in Hamburg to test the service’s industrial functions.

How Smartphones Hijack Our Minds

"The irony of the smartphone is that the qualities we find most appealing—its constant connection to the net, its multiplicity of apps, its responsiveness, its portability—are the very ones that give it such sway over our minds."

Research suggests that as the brain grows dependent on phone technology, the intellect weakens

So you bought that new iPhone. If you are like the typical owner, you’ll be pulling your phone out and using it some 80 times a day, according to data Apple collects. That means you’ll be consulting the glossy little rectangle nearly 30,000 times over the coming year. Your new phone, like your old one, will become your constant companion and trusty factotum—your teacher, secretary, confessor, guru. The two of you will be inseparable.

The smartphone is unique in the annals of personal technology. We keep the gadget within reach more or less around the clock, and we use it in countless ways, consulting its apps and checking its messages and heeding its alerts scores of times a day. The smartphone has become a repository of the self, recording and dispensing the words, sounds and images that define what we think, what we experience and who we are. In a 2015 Gallup survey, more than half of iPhone owners said that they couldn’t imagine life without the device.
