Parents in Ripon, California say a cell phone tower in a local schoolyard is to blame for the cancer diagnoses of four students in the last three years.
The tower, which is located at Weston Elementary, is the same as others scattered throughout the town. However, one parent told CBS Sacramento that its proximity to her son led to his 2017 brain cancer diagnosis.
“We had a doctor tell us that it’s 100 percent environmental, the kind of tumor that he has,” Monica Ferrulli said in an interview. “It’s indescribable, it’s really tough.”

Ontario is set to announce this week that cellphones will be banned in classrooms, starting in the next school year.
Some schools already have similar policies, but the province will issue a directive to all public schools for the 2019-20 school year.
It would prohibit cellphone use during instructional time.
Enforcement of the ban would be up to individual boards and schools.
The Progressive Conservatives had proposed such a ban in their platform during last year’s election campaign.

But could wireless Bluetooth headphones such as Airpods pose a cancer risk?
A group of 250 experts have signed a United Nations and World Health Organisation expressing ‘serious concern’ about the risks of Airpods and similar wireless headphones, as well as other wireless devices.
Devices such as Airpods comply with legal limits for electromagnetic frequency (EMF) radio waves – but the 250 experts worry that the guidelines are too lax.
Jerry Phillips, a professor of biochemistry at the University of Colorado said that wireless headphones pose a particular concern due to the fact they’re worn in the ear canal.
Philips said, ‘My concern for AirPods is that their placement in the ear canal exposes tissues in the head to relatively high levels of radio-frequency radiation.’

In a letter to local newspaper Western Gazette the parent wrote that society must do something about the issue or "we will be no more".
