FDA ‘Flagrantly Violating’ Law Requiring It to Protect Public From Wireless Device Radiation

Five nonprofit science and public health advocacy groups on Wednesday filed a citizen petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration alleging the agency failed to comply with a federal law that requires it to take certain actions to protect the public from unnecessary exposure to radiation from electronic products.

Five nonprofit science and public health advocacy groups on Wednesday filed a citizen petition with the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) alleging the agency is “flagrantly violating” a federal statute related to non-ionizing radiation from wireless devices.

The groups — led by Americans for Responsible Technology (ART), founded “to provide a presence in the District of Columbia for the growing number of grassroots organizations advocating for safe technology solutions in their communities” — demanded the FDA comply with a federal law that requires the agency to take certain actions to protect the public from unnecessary exposure to radiation from electronic products.

United States: High Court Won't Take Up IPhone Radiation Suit

High Court Won't Take Up IPhone Radiation Suit
by Katie Buehler, Law360, May 22, 2023

The U.S. Supreme Court on Monday declined to hear arguments in a proposed class action targeting Apple Inc. for the amount of radiation its iPhones emit, leaving in place a Ninth Circuit panel ruling that the California consumer protection law the consumers had brought claims under was preempted by federal law.

The justices denied a group of consumers' bid to weigh in on whether the Federal Communications Commission's guidelines on exposure limits for radiofrequency electromagnetic waves, or RF radiation, impliedly preempted conflicting state cellphone safety laws. They said the high court's input was needed to settle a circuit split.

U.S. Supreme Court Won’t Hear Apple Cellphone Radiation Case

The U.S. Supreme Court this week decided against hearing a lawsuit against Apple that sought to determine whether the Federal Communication Commission’s radiofrequency radiation guidelines preempt state safety and health law.

The U.S. Supreme Court this week decided against hearing a lawsuit against Apple that sought to determine whether the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) radiofrequency (RF) radiation guidelines preempt state safety and health laws.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit — nearly 30 iPhone users — allege that Apple’s iPhone emitted RF radiation that regularly exceeded the federal exposure limit and that Apple violated California state health and safety laws by failing to warn consumers about the health and safety risks of holding the device close to the body.

France: List of cell phones withdrawn or updated for deception and endangering users (25 May 2023)

List of cell phones withdrawn or updated for deception and endangering users
By : Phonegate Team • 25 May 2023

There are now 42 models of cell phones, identified as dangerous to the health of users, which have been either withdrawn from the French market or have seen their Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) updated by software. The latest: the Motorola Edge, the Essential Clap 20+ (you have until June 30, 2023 to bring it back to Boulanger), the Xiaomi Poco X3 and the Logicom Le Swipe.

Motorola is fined 7500 euros!

In a press release dated May 22, 2023, the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) announced that the SAR measurement tests of the Motorola Edge cell phone model did not comply with regulatory limits for the trunk (2.12 W/kg instead of 2 W/kg).

The control launched by ANFR dates back to May 2021. And the tests conducted by the approved laboratory CTC Advanced were carried out in August 2021. It has taken two years before users of these smartphones are finally informed of the non-compliance of their devices with European and national regulations.

Abstract

We assessed the effect that electromagnetic field (EMF) exerts on honeybees’ pollination efficiency using field and laboratory experiments. First, we measured levels of gene and protein expression in metabolic pathways involved in stress and behavioral responses elicited by EMF. Second, we assessed the effect of EMF on honeybee behavior and seed production by the honeybee-pollinated California poppy and, lastly, by measuring the consequences of pollination failure on plants’ community richness and abundance. EMF exposure exerted strong physiological stress on honeybees as shown by the enhanced expression of heat-shock proteins and genes involved in antioxidant activity and affected the expression levels of behavior-related genes. Moreover, California poppy individuals growing near EMF received fewer honeybee visits and produced fewer seeds than plants growing far from EMF. Last, we found a hump-shaped relationship between EMF and plant species richness and plant abundance. Our study provides conclusive evidence of detrimental impacts of EMF on honeybee’s pollination behavior, leading to negative effects on plant community.

In Loving Memory of Carsten Häublein

May 2023: We appreciate the interest in this moving testimony and have added the obituary for Pastor Carsten Häublein at the end of this post.

When Priests Commit Suicide - In the Loving Memory of Carsten Häublein
by Dafna Tachover, EHS Fights Back, 14 February 2014

A year ago, on February 14th, a day dedicated to love, I got a heartbreaking message which reflects most the unloving nature of our society. I was informed that my friend, Carsten Häublein, a German priest who suffered from EHS for 10 years, could no longer take the pain of the ‘Fire’ 4G LTE, which burned inside his head, and committed suicide.

My sadness was profound and on that same day I wrote a post but I did not publish it. His death was too overwhelming and I needed more time to digest it and understand what it meant for me, what impact should it have on my life and what his death says about the world and society when priests commit suicide.

FCC Is Supposed to Make Sure 5G Rollout Doesn’t Damage the Environment — It’s Failing at That Job

The Federal Communications Commission has a broad mandate to ensure that technology doesn’t damage the environment, but as the agency presides over a nationwide buildout for 5G service, requiring 800,000 new “small cell” transmitters, it is ignoring that mandate.

In a mountainous forest in southwest Puerto Rico, workers cleared a patch to make room for a 120-foot cellphone tower intended for use by AT&T and T-Mobile.

The site, as the tower company later acknowledged, destroyed some of the nesting habitats of the Puerto Rican nightjar, a tiny endangered songbird. Fewer than 2,000 are believed to be alive today.

In the northwestern New Mexico desert, a company called Sacred Wind Communications, promising to bring broadband to remote Navajo communities, planted a cell tower near the legally protected Pictured Cliffs archaeological site, which contains thousands of centuries-old tribal rock carvings.

Cell phones: One hundred brain tumor victims demand justice in the USA

For Dr. Marc Arazi, President of the Phonegate Alert Association and author of the book Phonegate, who published the English version to raise awareness of this public health issue in North America:

“Today, in the United States as in other countries, the actions are going to be multiplied from victims, who wish to demand justice. We provide their lawyers with the most up-to-date data on this industrial and health scandal. We also met in the USA, in 2017 and 2018, the lawyers Lundy & Lundy who represent the family of Frank Aaron Walker. Thus, if people with tumors, relatives of victims or their lawyers want to contact us, our association is fully available to support them.”

Cell phones: One hundred of brain tumor victims demand justice in the USA
By : Phonegate Team • 9 May 2023

While a South Korean epidemiological study has recently correlated the incidence of brain tumors and the use of cell phones, many plaintiffs in several regions of the world, including a hundred in the U.S. are demanding that justice recognize the responsibility of manufacturers in brain tumors that affected them or one of their relatives. If the Court of Appeal of Turin issued a decision in favor of a victim suffering from an acoustic neuroma (benign tumor) in November 2022, a judgment rendered on April 21, 2023 in the United States rejected part of the claims against the smartphone manufacturer Motorola.
