ICNIRP Revamp: Closer Ties to WHO EMF Project

ICNIRP Revamp: Closer Ties to WHO EMF Project

Seven New Commissioners
Akimasa Hirata To Be New Leader

microwavenews.com, 11 Dec. 2023

In November, the International Commission on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (ICNIRP) elected a new chair, vice chair and seven new Commissioners to join the remaining five. The new lineup takes over in mid-July 2024.

Yet, despite all the changes, ICNIRP’s outlook and policies are expected to remain much the same. While two medical doctors will be joining the Commission —there are none now— the membership will continue to be dominated by physicists and electrical engineers. ICNIRP’s entrenched thermal dogma will most likely continue to hold sway with cancer risks, and other non-thermal effects downplayed, when not dismissed outright.

Akimasa Hirata, a professor of electrical engineering at Japan’s Nagoya Institute of Technology, will be the next chairman. He has been on the Commission since 2016. Hirata replaces Australia’s Rodney Croft, a psychologist, who leaves after 12 years, the last four as ICNIRP chair. Hirata is the first person from Japan —or any other Asian country— to lead the Commission.

Combined Neurological Syndrome in Electrohypersensitivity and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity: A Clinical Study of 2018 Cases - by Dominique Belpomme and Philippe Irigaray

Combined Neurological Syndrome in Electrohypersensitivity and Multiple Chemical Sensitivity: A Clinical Study of 2018 Cases
New paper by Dominique Belpomme and Philippe Irigaray, 30 Nov. 2023
J. Clin. Med. 2023, 12(23), 7421; https://doi.org/10.3390/jcm12237421

Abstract

From a cohort of 2018 evaluable consecutive cases issued from the European Clinical Trial Database, we describe the complete clinical symptomatic presentation of electrohypersensitivity (EHS) and multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) and their association in the framework of a unique, sensitivity-related environmental neurologic syndrome. Eligibility criteria are those of the Atlanta consensus meeting for MCS, and those of WHO for EHS. There were 1428 EHS, 85 MCS and 505 EHS/MCS evaluable cases, so EHS was associated with MCS in 25%. Women appeared to be much more susceptible to EHS and/or to MCS than men, with no statistical significance between the EHS and MCS groups (p = 0.07), but the combined group revealed a more significant female sex ratio of 80.4% (p < 0.0001). All symptoms except emotional behavior were significantly more frequent in EHS patients than in healthy controls (p < 0.0001). We found no pathognomonic symptoms to establish the diagnosis of both disorders or to distinguish EHS from MCS. The three groups of patients were found to share identical symptoms, while several symptoms were found to be more significantly frequent in EHS/MCS than in EHS (p < 0.0001). From these data, we suggest that EHS and MCS are new brain disorders, generated via a common etiopathogenic mechanism.

6G: network operators want profitable returns on 5G first

6G: network operators want profitable returns on 5G first
Before the next generation of wireless communications is rolled out, better take-up of this one is needed
Financial Times, 13 Dec. 2023

This month, a consortium of global telecoms standards organisations declared plans to work on a sixth generation of superfast wireless cellular communications specifications. But consumer take-up of 5G has been lacklustre. One wonders whether 6G, due out next decade, will attract much attention.

Mobile carriers such as Verizon, AT&T and T-Mobile promised that 5G networks would transform our lives. Auctions for bandwidth hit a record in 2021 when Verizon bid more than $45bn. Yet many smartphone customers struggle to notice any difference.

Newly Published Scientific Review Finds Numerous Impacts To Insects From Wireless Radiation and Non-Ionizing EMFs

Environmental Health Trust, Nov 29, 2023

Teton Village, WY (November 29, 2023) – A systematic review and metaanalysis of studies on the biological effects to insects of non-ionizing electromagnetic fields, including cell tower and Wi-Fi radiation, was published in the journal Reviews on Environmental Health finding the “vast majority of studies found effects, generally harmful ones” with toxic effects such as impacts to reproduction and immune health occurring at legally allowed exposure levels.

The study entitled “Biological effects of electromagnetic fields on insects: a systematic review and meta-analysis” was authored by Alain Thill Marie-Claire Cammaerts and Alfonso Balmori.

Miles Teller garnered worldwide success starring in the hit action film Top Gun: Maverick - in this short clip taken from an interview on the Seth Myers show he talks about his reaction following exposure to toxic fumes in a ‘Top Gun’ jet.

The story in the video sounds hilarious doesn’t it - especially Tom Cruise’s response.

But, here it comes: Did you know that aircrew working commercial jets are exposed to those fumes every time they go to work and that reactions to the toxic substances in those fumes in aircraft cabin breathing air can occur at any time?

Miles Teller is very fortunate that he chose to be an actor and not an airline pilot, still, he reacted to a once-off flight, that has to get you thinking.

United States: CHD Funds Lawsuit on Behalf of Man Who Says Verizon Cell Tower Triggered Life-Threatening Cardiac Events

CHD Funds Lawsuit on Behalf of Man Who Says Verizon Cell Tower Triggered Life-Threatening Cardiac Events

The lawsuit, filed today, could set an important legal precedent that would help people like Henry “Hank” Allen, who have electromagnetic sensitivity, fight back against cell towers being placed near their homes.

An Idaho man alleging the radiofrequency radiation emitted by a cell tower installed next to his home triggered more than 15 episodes of atrial fibrillation today sued Verizon and other companies involved in the operation of the tower.

Henry “Hank” Allen, age 53, said his electromagnetic sensitivity (EMS) makes him vulnerable to life-threatening cardiac episodes, which began in April 2021, when Verizon activated the tower.

The lawsuit, funded by Children’s Health Defense (CHD) and filed in the U.S. District Court for the District of Idaho Southern Division, could set an important legal precedent that would help others with EMS who want to fight back against having a cell tower placed near where they live.

Russia's State Duma Bans Cellphones in School Classrooms

News about ban of mobile phone for children in Russia

School children hand in their cell phones before an exam.
The ban on mobile phones in classes in Russian schools is established by law today in the Russian Parliament - State Duma. The ban was established for the first time in the mandatory Sanitary Regulations from January 2021. Now the ban on the use of mobile phones in school lessons has been included in the Education Law. This is the result of work we began together with colleagues from the team of Prof. V. Kuchma in the summer of 2020 - reducing the risk to children’s health from a complex of harmful factors of information and communication technologies, among the sources of risk in the first place is a cell phone or smartphone.

Switzerland: Electrohypersensitive people can't take it anymore!

A petition has been launched for people suffering from electrohypersensitivity (EHS) to be recognized.

In Bern, the Federal Council has just confirmed that it will do nothing in Switzerland to monitor the compliance of smartphones with radiation safety standards, unlike in France. This news distresses Marie Gontier, head of the “Suisse-electrosensible” association : “More and more Swiss citizens are declaring themselves electrohypersensitive (EHS), she observes. These people make a direct link between their symptoms and exposure to electromagnetic waves.

49-Year-Old Develops Severe Heart Problems After New 5G Antenna Installed

Immediately after a 5G tower was erected across the street from his apartment building, a previously healthy 49-year-old Swedish man developed concerning cardiac symptoms and other issues that dissipated when he took refuge in an apartment without 5G, according to a new case study published in the Journal of Community Medicine & Public Health.
By Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D., childrenshealthdefense.org, 4 December 2023

Within a week of a 5G cell tower being activated near his home, a 49-year-old Swedish man developed severe heart symptoms that forced him to flee his home, according to a new peer-reviewed case study.

The case study, published Nov. 13 in the Journal of Community Medicine & Public Health, reported that the man’s symptoms immediately lessened when he took refuge in an apartment without 5G radiation. But each time he returned to his original home to collect his belongings, the symptoms returned.

This is the fifth scientific report by Dr. Lennart Hardell, a world-leading scientist on cancer risks from radiation, and Mona Nilsson on the human health effects of real-life 5G radiofrequency (RF) radiation.

France: More than forty smartphone models have been singled out for excess power

More than forty smartphone models have been pinned down for excess power
France Info, December 1, 2023 - auto-translation

In September 2023, the withdrawal of the iPhone 12 was widely publicized, but more than forty smartphone models from many brands have been pinned since 2017. In each case, an excess of the authorized radio frequency emission power.

Users of the iPhone 12 (manufactured by Apple) in France learned on September 12 that their smartphone was emitting too many waves. Indeed, the specific absorption rate (SAR) of Apple's smartphone exceeded the authorized limits. This measurement, regulated at European level, makes it possible to quantify the energy of electromagnetic waves emitted by our phones and absorbed by the human body.

Michèle Rivasi, a French member of European Parliament from the Greens/European Free Alliance group, died Wednesday at the age of 70, according to her office.

The EU lawmaker was a combative presence in Parliament. She was a champion for numerous causes in public health, the environment and transparency in public administration.

She could be withering for those bearing the brunt of her cross-examinations, for example during sessions of the budget control committee where she sat.

“The passing of Michèle Rivasi is an immense loss for political ecology, European democracy, and for all those who had the privilege of knowing her and working alongside her.
