Research supported by The French National Research Program for Environmental and Occupational Health found impacts from chronic wireless radiation frequency RF-EMF on the sleep of hospitalized preterm newborns.

Continuous measurements of RF-EMF levels were performed in 29 hospitalized preterm newborns throughout the first 21 days after birth.

The main chronic effect found was an increase in indeterminate sleep with RF-EMF exposure. At the highest exposure levels, an increase in RF-EMF levels increased sleep fragmentation. No significant relationship was found between acute (short term) RF-EMF levels and sleep parameters.

The authors concluded, ” Despite no consolidated disruption in sleep structure, this study is the first to show that some sleep parameters seem to have a certain sensitivity to chronic – but not acute – RF-EMF exposure in preterm newborns. Further studies are needed to confirm our results and examine possible mid- to long-term, sleep-related cardiorespiratory and neurodevelopmental outcomes.”

Aerotoxic Syndrome: Unprotected Flight Crews And Passengers

Unprotected Flight Crews And Passengers
Aerotoxic Syndrome: The Silence Continues

The problem of cabin air contamination in airliners, which can make flight crews seriously ill, has been known for decades. But the airlines are still playing down the health and safety risks.

Last March, in front of Jetblue's head office in New York, dozens of flight attendants chanted: "Fume events are real!” It was an unprecedented demonstration, designed to sound the alarm about the incidents of fumes, known as "fume events", that occur on board aircraft.

They generate unpleasant odors, contaminate the air and, as MEDIAPART has detailed, cause a range of neurological and respiratory symptoms and disabling disorders in aircrew, known as aerotoxic syndrome.

"The American Aviation Federation and aircraft manufacturers are ignoring this health risk, even after reports of crews falling ill", says Richard Blumenthal, a Democrat senator from Connecticut, who also introduced a bill for the third time in March calling for training and protection for passengers.

New York Times’ Caroline Hopkins and scientists interviewed for the story “Do I Need to Worry About Smartphone Radiation?” should be embarrassed
by Dariusz Leszezynski, Between a Rock and a Hard PlaceNovember 15, 2023

Presenting a complex scientific problem in a news media story is a difficult task. On the one hand, the presented science should be accurate but, on the other hand, it should be understood by an average reader, a layperson.

I have given numerous interviews for national and international news outlets and I experienced first-hand the problem of presenting a complex science in a format simplified enough for the laypersons but at the same time scientifically accurate.

On top of the complexity of science, there is always a problem of brevity. Journalists wish that the science story will be not only simple and easy for layperson readers but also short enough that the news media editors will accept it.

Study: "Electromagnetic Field Exposure and Abortion in Pregnant Women: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis"

30 October 2023 study: "Electromagnetic Field Exposure and Abortion in Pregnant Women: A Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis", published online in the Malaysian Journal of Medical Sciences, doi: 10.21315/mjms2023.30.5.6

Conclusion: " It is hoped that the results of this study will increase awareness of healthcare providers, such as gynaecologists and midwives, about the adverse effects of electromagnetic waves on pregnancy and the risk of miscarriage. In this way, pregnant women will be encouraged to protect themselves from exposure to electromagnetic waves. Pre-pregnancy and early pregnancy counseling on the proper way to limit exposure to electromagnetic waves from electrical appliances and devices, mobile phones and the internet may reduce the risk of spontaneous abortions."

Case Study on 5G: "A 49-Year-Old Man Developed Severe Microwave Syndrome after Activation of 5G Base Station 20 Meters from his Apartment"

Mona Nilsson, Swedish Radiation Protection Foundation, and Dr. Lennart Hardell, the Environment and Cancer Research Foundation,  have published a new case study on 5G: "A 49-Year-Old Man Developed Severe Microwave Syndrome after Activation of 5G Base Station 20 Meters from his Apartment" in the Journal of Community Medicine & Public Health

Link to study:

https://www.stralskyddsstiftelsen.se/wp-content/uploads/2023/11/microwave-syndrome_man49years_Nilsson_Hardell_nov2023.pdf

Conclusion: "This case study showed that a man living in an apartment at a distance of 20 meters from a 5G base station quickly developed severe symptoms of the microwave syndrome. The study confirmed previous case studies that 5G entails very high RF radiation exposure that causes illness in people living in the vicinity, and that the exposure levels that caused this illness are very much below the ICNIRP limits. There are no studies showing that 5G is safe for human health."

Connecticut City Rejects 5G Citing Evidence of Health Risks

After being presented with evidence of wireless radiation’s negative health impacts, the Board of Representatives in Stamford, Connecticut, voted to reject an agreement that would have allowed telecommunications carriers to install 5G equipment on city-owned utility poles.

By Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D., childrenshealthdefense.org, 20 November 2023

The Board of Representatives in Stamford, Connecticut, earlier this month voted to reject a model agreement that would have allowed AT&T and Verizon to install 5G equipment on city-owned utility poles.

In a bid to get 5G swiftly installed in his state, Gov. Ned Lamont’s office created a template contract between the nation’s top two telecommunication carriers and the state’s five major cities.

Stamford, the state’s second-largest city, is the only city so far to have voted against using the contract. Twenty-one representatives voted against the pact. Five were in favor and eight abstained.

Why There Should Be No More Discussion about “Appropriate” Screen Time for Infants, Toddlers, and Children

Why There Should Be No More Discussion about “Appropriate” Screen Time for Infants, Toddlers, and Children
By Patricia Burke of Safe Tech International Image courtesy Floris Freshman. Nov. 7, 2023

As a consumer culture, we do not debate the “appropriate level of exposure” for smoking, alcohol, gambling, pornography, guns, driving, or drug paraphernalia for infants, toddlers, and young children. A product or practice is either safe, or not safe, in childhood.

Previously, although often belatedly, society has met the responsibility to protect children from risks of harm, especially from addictive substances.

For example, the 2020 story of the five-year old from Utah who drove his family’s car onto the interstate was reported with a reminder to keep car keys away from children.

Now, perhaps nowhere in modern society is lack of discernment more damaging than in the blind acceptance of cell phones, tablets, screens, and wireless device use by children. We need to fix this, not only for children, but to reclaim reason in ourselves.

The Phonegate Alert SAR Calculator (bêta test version)

The Phonegate Alert SAR Calculator (bêta test version)

Phonegate Alert, November 2023

The Alerte Phonegate teams have set up this calculator (bêta test version) to allow you to know, in an indicative manner, the real specific absorption rate (SAR) of your mobile phone.

This calculation was made using a large amount of data that we have obliged mobile telephony regulatory agencies to make public, as well as the most up-to-date scientific knowledge bases on the subject.

It comes from five years of work by our NGO.

A color code comes with the results:
• if a value is displayed in GREEN, it means that it complies with the standards of the concerned country.
• if a value is displayed in RED, it means that the manufacturer’s SAR does not correspond to the reality of your exposure when your smartphone is close to your body or head. You will find below a summary table recalling the SAR limits not to be exceeded.

To launch the calculator, all you have to do is to enter the SAR measurements indicated by the manufacturer of your mobile phone (which you can find on the instructions or on the online documentation corresponding to your device), as well as your geographical area.

Aerotoxic Syndrome: The Scientific Controversy

The Grey Area That Never Benefits The Victims
Aviation's "Wounded Canaries" or Aerotoxic syndrome: The Scientific Controversy
by BEARNAIRDINE BEAUMONT,
Take-Off: Aviation's Wounded Canaries, NOV 8, 2023

Is aerotoxic syndrome a new occupational disease? Described more than twenty years ago based on symptoms and disorders reported to doctors by numerous pilots and flight attendants, it is not recognized as such. It is still the subject of scientific controversy. This is "a denial", says Eric BAILET, a former pilot who founded the Association of Victims of Aerotoxic Syndrome (AVSA) in 2016. “Pilots are poisoned by the air they breathe on board aircraft," he explains. The pressurization system used on virtually all commercial aircraft today was adopted in 1955. Almost immediately, undesirable effects on crews were reported and the cause was established: the air supplied was taken from the engine compressors and contaminated by leaking lubricating oil. When heated to high temperatures, these oils can release dangerous compounds, including neurotoxic organophosphates.

Justice Recognizes the Reality of Aerotoxic Syndrome

Sick Pilots: Justice recognizes the Reality of Aerotoxic Syndrome

As first reported by MEDIAPART France, on October 20, 2023, the Bordeaux Judicial Court recognized the causal link between this illness and occupational exposure, for yet another affected pilot. The judge relied in particular on the medical expertise of the head of the occupational and environmental pathologies department at Nantes University Hospital, according to whom the disorders reported by the pilot "are part of an ‘Aerotoxic Syndrome’ caused by the short- and long-term effects of exposure to oil-fumes-contaminated air in aircraft cabins.

However, as previously mentioned in other articles of mine don't look for ‘Aerotoxic Syndrome‘ in the international occupational disease classification tables (ICD-10): it is still not/not yet listed there. You can find my articles on the subject on my Academia.edu website here and here. The term Aerotoxic Syndrome (AS) was coined in 1999 and described as a medical condition by three scientists from France, the USA, and Australia who had independently of each other come to the same conclusions and then networked and put their findings together. AS is a collection of very diverse symptoms reported by aircrews who have been victims of cabin and cockpit air contamination events which are commonly referred to as "fume events".

France: List of cell phones withdrawn or updated for deception and endangering users (update 20 October 2023)

List of cell phones withdrawn or updated for deception and endangering users
By : Phonegate Team • 20 Oct 2023

There are now 45 models of cell phones, identified as dangerous to the health of users, which have been either withdrawn from the French market or have seen their Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) updated by software. The latest: the DOOGEE S88, the EMPORIA simplicity V27, the Iphone 12, the Motorola Edge, the Essential Clap 20+ (you have until June 30, 2023 to bring it back to Boulanger), the Xiaomi Poco X3 and the Logicom Le Swipe.

DOOGEE S88 and EMPORIA simplicity V27 withdrawn from the French market and recalled

The list of phones at risk from regulatory non-compliance continues to grow. In a press release published on October 19, 2023, the Agence Nationale des Fréquences (ANFR) has just pinpointed two new smartphones for exceeding specific absorption rate (SAR) levels in the limbs.

On reading the test reports for the two cell phones (DOOGEE S88, EMPORIA simplicity V27), our NGO notes once again that the agency waited some ten months before publicly informing users. More problematically, as with the iPhone 12, the tests carried out by the German laboratory Cetecom Advanced do not reveal the said overruns.

Why not? The ANFR, which we contacted, has still not replied…

According to the ANFR press release, the SAR of the DOOGEE S88 and EMPORIA simplicity V27 was measured at 4.23 W/kg, compared with the regulatory limit of 4 W/kg. This led the agency to make the following decisions:

“ANFR enjoins EMPORIA and DOOGEE to implement all available means to rapidly remedy this malfunction on equipment on the market as well as those already marketed. Distributors must also cease marketing their products.”

Mobile phone use may affect semen quality

News of this new study from the University of Geneva is being picked up by the global mainstream media.

Mobile phone use may affect semen quality

Press Release, University of Geneva, 1st November 2023

A team from the UNIGE and Swiss TPH has published a large study covering more than a decade of data on the effects of mobile phones on semen quality of young men.

© Rita Rahban. Sample of human spermatozoa.
Does electromagnetic radiation emitted by mobile phones affect semen quality? While various environmental and lifestyle factors have been proposed to explain the decline in semen quality observed over the last fifty years, the role of mobile phones has yet to be demonstrated. A team from the University of Geneva (UNIGE), in collaboration  with the Swiss Tropical and Public Health Institute (Swiss TPH), has published a major cross-sectional study on the subject. It shows that frequent use of mobile phones is associated with a lower sperm concentration and total sperm count. However, researchers did not find any association between mobile phone use and low sperm motility and morphology. Read the results in Fertility & Sterility.
