On the Thirty-Seventh Anniversary of the Chernobyl Catastrophe

On the thirty-seventh anniversary of the Chernobyl catastrophe
by Robert James Parsons, Independent Journalist, 26 April 2023

The article below was published in 2016 on the thirtieth anniversary of the catastrophe of Chernobyl. Little has changed since then. The World Health Organization still insists that the catastrophe (the only appropriate word for what happened -- and is still happening) caused a mere 51 deaths.

The WHO's refusal to acknowledge the catastrophe's stupendous implications and ever greater ramifications for the life of the planet as time goes on prompted a civil society organization in France and French-speaking Switzerland (Independent WHO) to set up a vigil at the entry of the WHO. The vigil, which lasted ten years and had at least one person there every working day from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m., demanded that the WHO end the stranglehold that the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has over the WHO by virtue of a legally binding agreement that gives the IAEA veto power over anything that the WHO might wish to undertake in the area of radiation and health.

MIAMI — “Patient Zero,” an American official stationed at the U.S. Embassy in Cuba, was in his Havana apartment one night in December 2016 when he heard a strange sound and felt what he described as a “head-crushing pressure” and a “massive ear pain.”

(Photo): Danierys Font, 42, Senior Administrative Assistant at the University of Miami's Miller School of Medicine, sits in a rotary chair used to diagnose diplomatic personnel, who experience neurosensory symptoms after exposure to a unique sound/pressure phenomenon in Havana.

The sound stopped after he moved to another residence, but the symptoms remained, he told the Miami Herald: “I would wake up with nosebleeds that wouldn’t stop.”

A doctor the CIA sent to investigate had a similar incident himself in his Capri Hotel room just hours after arriving on the island’s capital in April 2017. “I woke up with severe pain in my right ear. I had a deafening, resounding headache and nausea. I sat on the bed and realized I was awake. I had this extreme feeling of pressure. I thought, ‘This can’t be happening; it’s crazy,’” he told the Herald.

A scientific study notices increase in brain tumors in South Korea and correlates it with cell phone use

A scientific study notices increase in brain tumors in South Korea and correlates it with cell phone use
By : Phonegate Team • 26 Apr 2023

An epidemiological study has recently been carried out by researcher Jinyoung Moon*, with the aim of establishing a potential correlation between the exposure of the population to radiation emitted by mobile phones and the observed increase in certain types of brain tumors in South Korea. The results, published in early March 2023 in Environmental Research journal, confirm the international trend seen in other countries such as France, with a fourfold increase in 30 years in glioblastomas (the most serious cancers of the brain).

In order to estimate the impact of mobile phones in the occurrence of brain tumors, the South Korean scientist relied on the national mobile phone subscription rate, used as an approximation for the exposure assessment to electromagnetic waves. The researcher thus analyzed the incidence of certain tumors, both benign and malignant, by brain region and for the entire population of South Korea.

D.C. Court Rules Inadmissibility of Evidence that Failed to Show Cancer Link to Cell Phones
By Ahmad Hathout, broadbandbreakfast.com, 26 April 2023

The allegation cell radiation causes cancer has been talked about for years.

WASHINGTON, April 26, 2023 – The Superior Court of D.C. ruled Tuesday that witness testimony presented as part of a plaintiff’s allegation that cell phones were causing illnesses was inadmissible because it failed to show a causation between the two.

The court held hearings in September 2022 in a consolidated case of 13 separate lawsuits to determine admissibility of evidence involving individuals suing Motorola, Nokia, Qualcomm, Samsung, and Audiovox Communications – all companies involved in the making of components of wireless equipment – for brain tumors and cancers either they or their clients suffered allegedly because of long-term exposure to cell phone radiation.

Apple Takes Aim at CHD’s Arguments in Cellphone Radiation Case

In its latest effort to keep a cellphone radiation case from heading to the U.S. Supreme Court, Apple tried to poke holes in arguments submitted to the Supreme Court by Children’s Health Defense for why unelected federal bureaucrats cannot override state health and safety law.

Apple wants the U.S. Supreme Court to stay out of a lawsuit that would decide if the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) cellphone radiation guidelines preempt state safety and health laws.

The plaintiffs in the lawsuit, Andrew Cohen et al. v. Apple Inc., allege that Apple’s iPhone emitted radiofrequency (RF) radiation that regularly exceeded the federal exposure limit and that Apple violated state health and safety law by failing to warn consumers about the health and safety risks of holding the device close to the body.

United States: Berkeley Wants High Court To Hear IPhone Radiation Suit

Berkeley Wants High Court To Hear IPhone Radiation Suit
By Jonathan Capriel, Law360, Mar 15, 2023

Law360 (March 15, 2023, 10:11 PM EDT) -- The city of Berkeley, California, has been on the losing end of its own fight regarding the line between state and federal law when it comes to regulating radiofrequency levels, and it wants the U.S. Supreme Court to step into another case to prevent the Ninth Circuit from leaning too hard toward preemption.

Berkeley filed an amicus brief before the justices Wednesday, asking them to grant a writ of certiorari to a proposed class of iPhone users who are suing Apple over what they say are dangerous levels of radiation that the smartphones exposed them to.

The Ninth Circuit has tossed the phone users' case, saying that the California consumer protection law they brought their suit under was preempted by the Federal Communications Commission's power to regulate radiation levels and declare what amount is considered safe.

But Berkeley says courts have been taking preemption too far.

Motorola Gets Brain Cancer Cellphone Suit Slashed
By Piper Hudspeth Blackburn, Law360, Apr 24, 2023

Law360 (April 24, 2023, 8:52 PM EDT) -- A Louisiana federal judge has slashed part of a suit against Motorola that alleged a man died from brain cancer caused by exposure to harmful amounts of radiation from his phones, finding that the dismissed claims were preempted by the Federal Communications Commission's authority to set standards for phones' radio frequency emissions.

In an April 21 order, U.S. District Judge James D. Cain Jr. said most of the claims brought by the deceased man's family were preempted because they were based on "general attacks" on the FCC's certifications and cellphone manufacturers' "alleged manipulation of testing results."

United States: Apple Urges Justices Not To Take Up IPhone Radiation Suit

Apple Urges Justices Not To Take Up IPhone Radiation Suit
By Nadia Dreid, Law360 (April 17, 2023)

Apple wants the U.S. Supreme Court to stay out of a suit targeting the tech behemoth for the amount of radiation its iPhones put off, telling the justices that federal law is quite clear that the Federal Communications Commission is the one that sets radiofrequency emissions and not states or localities.
There's no reason for the justices to disturb the Ninth Circuit's ruling, which found that the iPhone users' suit was preempted by federal law, Apple said Friday in its opposition to the proposed class's petition for a writ of certiorari.

When the Ninth Circuit said the suit was preempted by federal law, it was "merely join[ing] every other court to confront the issue by holding that the FCC's regulations preempt conflicting state standards on RF emissions," Apple said.

There’s Another Pandemic Raging. It’s Targeting the Young and Online

There’s another pandemic raging. It’s targeting the young and online.
By Mitch Daniels, Opinion, Washington Post, 17 April 2023

A pandemic rages uncontrolled, a damaging and even deadly plague sweeping across a wide swath of society. The scientific evidence of its dangers is massive and irrefutable. Its worst harm is inflicted on the young, who are the most vulnerable to its contagion, and whose injuries may well prove irreversible with time.

The last time the nation faced such a threat, leaders panicked and overreacted, understandably at first.  But then they failed to course-correct even as the scientific data plainly guided them to do so. Consequently, enormous and tragic collateral damage occurred in the form of other health risks left untreated, more than a year of vital learning lost by schoolchildren, increases in mental illness, drug abuse and suicide, not to mention the destruction of countless businesses and economic livelihoods.

We have already pointed out on many occasions that the SAR (specific absorption rate) does not in any case offer sufficient protection and that its standards, both European and international, have allowed the mobile telephony industry to overexpose all mobile phone users for 30 years, prioritizing patient sensitivity to public health. However, the National Frequency Agency (ANFR), far from questioning the use of this indicator, intends to maintain confusion by adding two additional ones: the IPD (Incident Power Density) and the APD (Absorbed Power Density).

Case Report: A 52-Year Healthy Woman Developed Severe Microwave Syndrome Shortly After Installation of a 5G Base Station Close to Her Apartment

Hardell L and Nilsson, Published: 10 Apr 2023
Ann Clin Med Case Rep. 2023; V10(16): 1-10

Abstract

In this case report we present a woman aged 52 years who developed health problems consistent with the microwave syndrome after installation of a 5G base station facing her apartment at 60 meters’ distance. These symptoms consisted of e.g., headache, dizziness, concentration difficulties, fatigue, arrhythmia, skin burning and nose bleeding corresponding to the microwave syndrome. High radiofrequency (RF) radiation levels were measured in her apartment especially in the part closest to the base station. In her living room at the window 17 500 to 758 000 μW/m2 peak levels were obtained during 10 measurements, each over 1 minute. At the place of her sofa in her living room peak levels from 36 800 to 222 000 μW/m2 were measured. It is noteworthy that very high radiation was found at the balcony facing the base station. All ten measurements at that place yielded within 10-15 seconds peak levels >2 500 000 μW/m2, which is the highest measurable level with the meter used in this study. At the playground about 40 meters from the base station peak levels of 1 120 000 μW/m2 and 479 000 μW/m2 were measured, respectively. After temporarily leaving the apartment for another dwelling with much lower RF radiation, 96 to 2 810 μW/m2 peak levels, almost all symptoms disappeared within a short time. After moving back to her own apartment the symptoms reappeared. This study is in line with the results of our two previous case studies showing that installation of 5G caused an extreme increase in exposure and rapid development of the microwave syndrome. These case studies indicate that implementation of 5G cannot be done without the risk of harmful effects on human health.

Germany: Wangen City Implements Nightly WiFi Shutdown To Address Electrosensitivity

Wangen City Implements Nightly WiFi Shutdown To Address Electrosensitivity
by PNB Team, parisbeacon.com, Update 8 April 2023

The public WLAN in the Upper Swabian town of Wangen has been being switched off daily from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. this month. The city administration wants to enable people who feel negatively influenced by the WLAN to have a good night’s sleep. The “Alliance for Responsible Mobile Communications” campaigned, and an agreement was quickly reached with the city administration. Wangen limited the temporary shutdown to the hotspots in the old town, where the number of accesses in the relevant time was low anyway.

In Ravensburg, about 30 km from Wangen, there are similar plans to relieve people who feel electrosensitive. The city wants to comply with the requests of a citizens’ group that deals with the issue of mobile phone radiation to switch off the public WLAN at night. The city intends to switch off the hotspots from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., making a contribution to minimizing overall radiation exposure.

List of cell phones withdrawn or updated for deception and endangering users
By : Phonegate Team • 6 Apr 2023

There are now 41 models of mobile phones, identified as dangerous for the health of users, which have either been withdrawn from the French market, or have had their Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) subject to a software update. The latest: the Essential Clap 20+ (Boulanger), the Xiaomi Poco X3 and the Logicom Le Swipe.

Be careful if you have an Essential Clap 20+, you have until June 30, 2023 to bring it back to Boulanger!

The Essential Clap 20+ pinned!

In a press release dated April 4, 2023, the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) announced that the SAR measurement tests of the Essentiel Clap 20+ mobile phone model did not respect the regulatory limits for the trunk (2 .73 W/kg instead of 2W/kg) and limbs (4.14W/kg instead of 4W/kg).

FCC Should Revisit Exposure Limits For Radio Frequency Radiation

by Patricia Burke, spiritofchange.org, 7 April 2023

The FCC guidelines for public radiation exposure were established over two decades ago before wireless technology infiltrated our neighborhoods, homes and even the sanctity of our bodies.

Are the safety guidelines for radio frequency radiation, set in 1996 by the Federal Communications Commission to facilitate the growth of the wireless industry, adequate for the exposure levels the public receives today?

The health complaints of Pittsfield residents following the placement of a Verizon tower in a residential neighborhood and the resulting legal battle was the topic of a November 2022 investigative article by ProPublica “How the FCC Shields Cellphone Companies From Safety Concerns.”

Children's Health Defense Petitions FCC to ‘Quit Stalling’ on Court Order to Address Harmful Effects of Wireless Radiation

CHD Petitions FCC to ‘Quit Stalling’ on Court Order to Address Harmful Effects of Wireless Radiation
By Suzanne Burdick, Ph.D., childrenshealthdefense.org, 5 April 2023

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) on Tuesday petitioned the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to “quit stalling” and comply with a court-ordered mandate to explain how the agency determined its current guidelines adequately protect humans and the environment against harmful effects of exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit issued the mandate on Aug. 13, 2021, when it ruled the FCC failed to consider the non-cancer evidence of adverse health effects related to wireless technology when the agency determined its 1996 health and safety guidelines regarding wireless-based technologies adequately protected public health.

The ruling stemmed from CHD’s historic win in a case challenging the FCC’s decision not to review the 1996 guidelines.

The FCC has taken no action to comply with the court’s ruling, prompting CHD to threaten further legal action.

Not everybody wants a 5G cell site on a 30-foot pole in front of their home. This is the story of Moira Hahn and Mark Hotchkiss of Long Beach, California, who appealed successfully against the permit for the 5G cell site.

Extract:
"Hahn had long suffered from serious migraines that forced her into retirement after years of teaching art at a nearby college.

In the days after they received the notice in the mail [informing them that the lamppost outside their home would soon be equipped with a wireless transmission facility], Hahn decided to consult her doctor about her migraines again. It was during that consultation that he suggested her migraines could be related to something called electromagnetic hypersensitivity, or EHS.

“My doctor started to say, ‘What about t Wi-Fi? You know, that could cause it. Try to get rid of all your cellular stuff, get rid of the walk around phones.’” Hahn said.

Communication towers inside Monteverde Cloud
Forest Biological Preserve
They are ancient animals with abilities to survive beyond belief. They live both in water and on land. They can breathe through their skin. They can regenerate limbs and organs. They don’t get cancer. They have been around for 365 million years, and have survived four mass extinctions during the history of life on Earth. Yet today, they are disappearing more rapidly than any other class of animals. By their death, they are screaming: Turn off your cell phones! Now, before it is too late!

Even before cell phones, the proliferation of radio  and TV towers, radar stations, and communication antennas in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s began killing off these most hardy, well-adapted, and important forms of life.
