France: Linky: Electrosensitive People Win their Case against Enedis Condemned to “Clean Up Electricity”

This court decision marks a symbolic step in the fight between people with EHS and Enedis. All that remains is to hope that it sets a precedent and allows other plaintiffs to win their case.

It is the end of a legal tussle that began several years ago. After several setbacks in court against thirteen plaintiffs with electrosensitivity, Enedis had planned to appeal to the Court of Cassation. Eventually, it will be nothing. The company preferred to avoid this last resort in order to avoid another disappointment.

We are in March 2019. An anti-linky collective, made up of 206 complainants, is filing a complaint against Enedis and the Linky meter. They accuse the device of representing a danger to the health of users and blame Enedis for having installed the meters without their prior authorization. The TGI (Tribunal de grande instance) of Bordeaux rejects the group’s request. Nevertheless, the magistrates believe that 13 of the plaintiffs, suffering from electrosensitivity, win their case.

Men Should Consider Limiting Cell Phone Use to Protect Sperm Quality, Study Finds

Men Should Consider Limiting Cell Phone Use to Protect Sperm Quality, Study Finds
January 27, 2022 by el-telegraph (from Fox News article, "Men concerned about fertility should limit cell phone use to protect sperm quality, study says" which we cannot access)

Men may want to limit their cell phone use if they are concerned about fertility, according to a recent meta-analysis published last November in Environmental research who discovered that radiofrequency electromagnetic waves (RF-EMW) emitted by cell phones decrease the quality of sperm by reducing their motility, viability and concentration.

“Male cellphone users should strive to reduce cellphone use to protect their sperm quality,” said Yun Hak Kim, senior researcher and assistant professor at National Pusan. University.

Pusan National University Scientists Reveal Links between Sperm Quality and Cell Phone Use

As part of its actions to warn about overexposure to the thermal effects of smartphone waves (microwave-type heating effect), which are particularly risky for spermatozoa, the NGO Phonegate Alert advises users to avoid contact of cell phones or any other connected object (tablet, laptop, etc…) with the pelvic area. Never carry a cell phone in your pants pocket!

For Dr. Marc Arazi who presides over the association and who is at the origin of the revelations of the Phonegate health scandal:

“Public authorities must intensify scientific research on the risks of infertility related to the use of cell phones worn close to the body both in men and women and finally take into account the total lack of credibility of the specific absorption rate (SAR) as an indicator to protect health.”

Cell phones have succeeded in bringing the world closer, making life tolerable during a very trying time. But cellphones also have their downsides. They can have negative effects on health. This is because cell phones emit radiofrequency electromagnetic waves (RF-EMWs), which are absorbed by the body. According to a meta-analysis from 2011, data from previous studies indicate that RF-EMWs emitted by cell phones degrade sperm quality by reducing their motility, viability, and concentration. However, this meta-analysis had a few limitations, as it had low amounts of in vivo data and considered cell phone models that are now outdated.

Pressure Mounts To Retract Grimes RF–Cancer Review

Pressure Mounts To Retract Grimes RF–Cancer Review
Former Director of NIEHS Endorses Removal
microwavenews.com, 25 Jan. 2022

Senior environmental health scientists are calling for JAMA Oncology to retract a review of RF radiation and cancer by David Robert Grimes, a physicist at Dublin City University.

Grimes’s paper, which was posted on the journal’s website on December 9th, has prompted a barrage of complaints to Nora Disis, the editor of JAMA Oncology.

(For background, see Microwave News’ Four Reasons for Retraction, posted last week.)

Among those calling for retraction is Linda Birnbaum, who, for ten years, 2009-2019, was the director of the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS) and the National Toxicology Program (NTP). Ronald Melnick, who led the team that designed the NTP RF–cancer study, is another harsh critic.

Headsets: Beware! Not without Danger!

Headsets: beware! Not without danger!
Equipe Phonegate 24 Jan 2022

New study shows that using an headset reduces the exposure of the head by ten times, but beware it is not without danger. Since December 2017, the California Department of Public Health warns against prolonged use of the cell phone with a headset, whether during a call or when you listen to music or watch a movie.

A level of exposure of the head divided by ten

In a press release dated January 21, 2022, the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) published a study on exposure to waves from cell phones used with a headset.

To do this, it tested two wired headsets (including an air tube headset) and four wireless headsets, all available on the French market. A protocol specific to ANFR was followed in the Agency’s laboratory in order to measure the specific absorption rate (SAR) indicators – head, limbs and trunk – induced during 2G and 3G calls and data transfer during a communication (4G), all by a cell phone.

While claiming to debunk conspiracies and speak for science, Grimes ignores published research and channels corporate PR.

When is scientific “debunking” really just a way to dismiss pesky scientists whose findings trouble corporate interests? For physicist David Robert Grimes, it seems quite often.

Researchers with decades of experience in toxicology and epidemiology are crying foul and calling for retraction of a recent essay in JAMA Oncology written by Grimes, in which the assistant professor of biomedical physics at Dublin City University ignored and dismissed much of the peer reviewed literature and government findings that point to dangers from radiofrequency radiation—scientific evidence that the telecom, IT and power industries find uncomfortable. In what has emerged as Grimes’s preferred technique to belittle those he disagrees with, he also heaped scorn on contrary scientific evidence as “fringe science” while exaggerating the importance of his own opinions on “misconceptions and conspiracy theories.”

United States: Medevac Helicopter Flights Could Be Grounded by New 5G Rollout

Medevac Helicopter Flights Could Be Grounded by New 5G Rollout
by Alan Levin, Bloomberg/Yahoo.com, 13 Jan. 2022

(Bloomberg) -- The critically ill newborn baby was whisked by helicopter Saturday from rural Silverton, Oregon, to a children’s hospital in Portland, the kind of life-saving transport Life Flight Network makes thousands of times a year.

But starting Jan. 19, when new 5G wireless service kicks off across the country, such routine air-ambulance missions may no longer be permitted.

U.S. regulations in many cases require commercial helicopters -- including air ambulances and scores of other operators -- to have a functioning device known as a radar altimeter. But new frequencies being shifted to 5G service may render them unreliable. That could make landings in remote areas dangerous and put Life Flight’s hospital landing pads in Portland and Seattle off limits, said Ben Clayton, interim chief executive officer of the Aurora, Oregon-based nonprofit.

SpaceX’s Starlink has been making steady gains with its fledgling satellite internet service, surpassing 100,000 terminals shipped in 2021 and showing promising improvements in performance after initial speed tests produced lackluster results. However, the company’s run into an unforeseen hiccup with its dishes: Cats love them.

“Starlink works great until the cats find out that the dish gives off a little heat on cold days,” tweeted Starlink user Aaron Taylor.

His recent image of five cats huddled together on top of a Starlink dish went viral. In the photo, the Starlink dish is installed at ground level and surrounded by snow. As noted by the Tesla- and SpaceX-focused news outlet and store Tesmanian, the dish’s Snow Melt Mode may be to blame. Launched in 2020, this feature enables dishes to use self-heating capabilities to prevent snow build-up from interfering with the signal—and apparently provides a toasty outdoor lounge space for critters.

Greece Just Won the Race to 5G. Poor Greece

Greece Just Won the Race to 5G. Poor Greece
by Naturalist Activist, 10 January 2021, Anti-Wireless Shop

Remember all the hype about “the race to 5G” and how important it was supposed to be for economic dominance in the 21st century? Whoever “won” was going to have a huge advantage over other countries that didn’t rush to put in 5G everywhere. Or so the narrative went.

Now Greece appears to have “won” the race; the country’s national wireless carrier, Cosmote, having covered virtually the entire country and much of the Aegean with 5G. So what’s the prize?

Greece isn’t a big manufacturing base and we don’t have a lot of factories (most of them have moved to Bulgaria and Albania since the economic crisis) so the robotization of factories isn’t what 5G is for. I’m not sure what we’re supposed to do with 5G, actually, since most of the population can’t afford a 5G phone in the first place, and nobody seems to want one (well, maybe a few tech geeks).

Greece’s main industries are farming, beekeeping and tourism—so what will 5G do to help them? A former agriculture minister used to wax poetic about how Greek farmers would be able to check soil acidity and water crops using their smartphones from the village cafe (he made it sound as if they’d never have to get their hands dirty ever again) but he never mentioned the downsides.

Mobi-Kids: A Study with Controversial Results

Mobi-Kids: A study with controversial results
Equipe Phonegate 11 Jan. 2022

Expected since 2016, the Mobi-kids study has just been published – discreetly – on December 30, 2021, in the scientific journal Environment International. The careful reading we have done leads us to express a critical opinion, both on the methodology of the study itself and on the various conflicts of interest detected with the mobile company Orange – and, consequently, reaching the controversial results described here.

[1/2] First of all, we have summarized this study whose consequences are essential in terms of public health protection, especially for children and young users of mobile phones. It is therefore necessary to make it accessible to as many people as possible.

[2/2] In this second part, we try to highlight the different points which, according to us, cast doubt on this scientific work.

Mobi-kids Study: Summary by Phonegate Alert Association

Mobi-kids : our summary of the study
Equipe Phonegate 9 Jan. 2022

The Mobi-kids study (whose results were expected since 2016!) was finally published on December 30, 2021, in the scientific journal Environment International. Its authors conclude their work as follows:

Overall, our study provides no evidence of a causal association between wireless phone use and brain tumours in young people. However, the sources of bias summarised above prevent us from ruling out a small increased risk.

And the least we can say is that the methodology of the study as well as its results seem to us to be controversial.

[1/2] Here is a summary of our first analysis of the study, followed by the main critical points which, in our opinion, deserve to be studied further by the international scientific community.
