Health Hazards from Cell Phones -- California Department of Public Health Announces New Guidelines to Reduce Cell Phone Health Risk

Health Hazards from Cell Phones -- California Department of Public Health Announces New Guidelines to Reduce Cell Phone Health Risk
Environmental Health Trust, 20 December 2017

Teton Village, WY -- (SBWIRE) -- 12/20/2017 -- The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) just issuedlong-awaited recommendations to reduce microwave radiation exposures from cell phones, especially for children due to research showing that "long-term, high use may impact human health." The CDPH guidance was spurred by a lawsuit from Berkeley Professor Joel Moskowitz which revealed that CDPH scientists had drafted more than 27 versions of advice since 2008.

"Cell phones came on the market decades ago without safety testing because it was assumed that non-ionizing radiation could not cause cancer. However the scientific evidence is now clear and compelling, this type of radiation is harmful to our health, " stated Dr. Devra Davis, founder and President of Environmental Health Trust, a research nonprofit.

"Cancer is only one of the serious health issues posed by non-ionizing radiation." Davis pointed to a new study funded by the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences just published by Kaiser Permanente scientists in the journal Scientific Reports (Nature Publishing Group) that found women with the highest magnetic field exposures during pregnancy had nearly three times more miscarriages confirming a 2012 study with similar findings. Davis notes that Kaiser principal investigator De-Kun Li, MD, PhD has previously published findings linking higher prenatal nonionizing radiation exposures to a higher risk of obesity, and a higher risk of asthma.

"Children and Mobile Phones: The Health of the Following Generations is in Danger": Russian National Committee of Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection - 2008 Report

Please read and share widely this extract from the 2008 report.

"The members of the Russian National Committee on Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection emphasize ultimate urgency to defend children’s health from the influence of the EMF of the mobile communication systems. We appeal to the government authorities, to the entire society to pay closest attention to this coming threat and to take adequate measures in order to prevent negative consequences to the future generation’s health."

Russian National Committee of Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection - 2008 report

Russian National Committee of Non-Ionizing Radiation Protection (RNCNIRP) have accepted an important decision on the theme “mobile communication and children`s health” (the text of the decision is enclosed).  The members of the committee give a prediction of possible illnesses, the possibility of which can be high for children, using modern mobile phones.  This decision is based on the results of fundamental researches of biological influence of electromagnetic field, which has been held in Russia during the 40 years and considers the modern data. RNCNIRP considers that the manufacturers should inform the customers about the possible risk for children`s health from using the mobile phone. The point of view of the RNCNIRP is supported by the members of the members of Committees of health protection of both chambers of Russian Parliament.

The members  of RCNIRP  conduct  continuous  activity in  the  area  of mobile  telecommunication  EMF safety.

On Sunday, France’s education minister announced that mobile phones will be banned from primary, junior, and middle schools, calling it a matter of “public health.” While phones are already prohibited in classrooms in France, starting in September 2018 students won’t be allowed to use them on breaks, at lunch, or between lessons either.
“These days, the children don’t play at break time anymore,” Jean-Michel Blanquer said, according to the Local, an English-language publication. “They are just all in front of their smartphones and from an educational point of view, that’s a problem.”

France is to impose a total ban on pupils using mobile phones in primary and secondary schools starting in September 2018, its education minister has confirmed.

Phones are already forbidden in French classrooms but starting next school year, pupils will be barred from taking them out at breaks, lunch times and between lessons.

Teachers and parents are divided over a total ban, however, with some saying children must be able to "live in their time". In France, some 93 per cent of 12 to 17-year-olds own mobile phones.

"These days the children don't play at break time anymore, they are just all in front of their smartphones and from an educational point of view that's a problem," said Jean-Michel Blanquer, the French education minister.

Phonegate: The Health and Industrial Issues of a Global Scandal

We are more than six billion persons in the world using a mobile phone. It has become an indispensable object of our daily life. Who is interested in the health risks from cell phones? Who has thoroughly read the user manual of their cell phone? Who has studied the regulations that control phones being placed on the market?

Not many of us! Most of us are seduced into trusting manufacturers and national and international organizations which ensure that mobile phones respect our health and safety.

The failure of national and international regulatory agencies

Unfortunately, our confidence has been violated. Our international system of control and regulation has completely failed. This new health and industrial scandal has been called “Phonegate”, echoing the similar scandal of “Dieselgate”, affecting the Volkswagen Group and other world auto manufacturers.

Switzerland: Obstacles to the Introduction of 5G

5G risks arriving behind schedule in Switzerland
by Lucie Monnat ABO+, 24 heures, 5 December 2017 (translation)

Mobile telephony: The new technology is judged to be indispensable to our digital evolution. But there are many obstacles to its introduction.

Photo : Installation of an antenna on the roof of an apartment building in Zurich. These antennas physically disturb a part of the population. Must we condemn them or replace them with another technology? Photo: Christian Beutler/Keystone

The Federal Council wants a Switzerland that does not have to be ashamed of its digital capabilities. In terms of telephony, the government wants to "place Switzerland at the highest level in international comparison," according to its statement when the strategy "Digital Switzerland" was adopted in April 2016. This was repeated on the Swiss Day of Digital Technology on November 21st. To achieve this, the Federal Council is planning the introduction of 5G on its territory, an operation that is faced with many obstacles.

France's National Health Agency Calls for Reducing Children's Wireless Exposures - Article on the July 2016 Report of ANSES "Exposure to Radiofrequencies and Child Health"

This is the report from ANSES that presented an analysis of test reports of SAR (Specific Absorption Rate) levels by the French National Frequencies Agency (ANFR).  The 2016 report stated  that in 2015, 89 percent of cell phones  tested in direct body contact  had a SAR higher than the maximum limit value of 2 W/kg and 25 percent had a SAR higher than 4 W/kg.

Dr. Marc Arazi, a French physician, made an inquiry to see the actual data. He was first denied the information by ANFR.  After a court challenge and months of pressure, ANFR posted the information on their website in June 2017. The information, however, is not complete, and Dr. Arazi has been obliged to again take legal action against ANFR in order for them to release all the data on the results of the mobile phone tests, filing an appeal with the Administrative Tribunal of Melun on 1 December 2017.

Dr. Arazi maintains a blog on the issue.

France's National Health Agency Calls for Reducing Children's Wireless Exposures
Environmental Health Trust, sbwire.com, 11 July 2016

"All wireless devices, from tablets, remote controlled toys, wireless toys, baby monitors, and cell phones should be subjected to tighter regulatory limits."

Teton Village, WY -- (SBWIRE) -- 07/11/2016 -- On July 8, the French National Agency of Health Security of Food, Environment and Labour (ANSES) published a new scientific report "Radiofrequency Exposure and the Health of Children". Concluding that children are more vulnerable to radio frequency (RF) wireless exposures, the French report recommends immediately reducing exposures to wireless radiation from all wireless devices for young children. Acknowledging the inadequacies of current outdated RF regulations, ANSES recommends strengthening RF exposure limits with child protective safety margins and developing more sophisticated premarket test methods to fully assess human exposures to RF radiation from wireless devices. The new report has made headlines across the country.

Sperm, Fetuses, Children, Adults... the "Planetary Cataclysm" of Electromagnetic Fields (2016 Article)

Do waves make us sick?
by Adorian de Meeûs, lalibre.be, 16 May 2016
(translated by the Editor of "Towards Better Health")

"Blood cancer, Alzheimer's disease, infertility..."

Why are more and more persons becoming hypersensitive to waves (3 to 4% in Belgium)?  Cell phones, Wi-Fi, high power transmission lines... are they causing risks for cancer, Alzheimer's, autism, low fertility?  Oncologist and internationally recognized specialist in the effects of electromagnetic fields on health, Prof. Dominique Belpomme, is Saturday's guest of LaLibre.be.  He denounces the "seriousness of policy denial" and ideological corruption" regarding health.

Dr. Dominique Belpomme is professor of oncology at Paris-Descartes University (Paris V), author of scientific publications, member of several international learned societies, president of ARTAC (Association for Research on Treatment against Cancer).  He directs the European Cancer and Environment Research Institute in Brussels.  Extracts from the conversation in full in Sélection LaLibre.be:

We thank ARTAC for having sent us the full text of the interview with Prof. Dominique Belpomme by la libre Belgique (text as sent by the journalist).

Let's start with the basics:  what are electromagnetic fields?

[Press release] Phonegate : New legal proceedings against ANFR and initial reaction to the communiqué of Nicolas Hulot

[Press release] Phonegate : New legal proceedings against ANFR and initial reaction to the communiqué of Nicolas Hulot
by Marc Arazi, arazi.fr, 2 December 2017

Initial reaction to the communiqué of Nicolas Hulot

By coincidence, our second legal action comes the same day as the launch of an information campaign by Nicolas Hulot, Minister for the Ecological and Inclusive Transition, on the six proper uses of mobile phones. Our mobilization to obtain from the public authorities a better awareness of users bears fruit. We regret, however, that this initial position of the Minister is to a large extent part of the denial of the health risks by the industrial sector. Contrary to what has been stated in his communiqué, the measures proposed seem to us to be far removed from the important recommendations of the French National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (ANSES) in its July 2016 report, “Exposure to Radiofrequencies and Child Health”.

Effects of Wireless Technologies on People, Animals, and Bees

ONE OF OUR POPULAR POSTS: This is a particularly appealing article, especially the last part about the harmful effects of cordless DECT phones on animals.

"Today, the natural information and functional system of humans, animals and plants has been superimposed by an unprecedented dense and energetic mesh of artificial magnetic, electrical and electromagnetic fields, generated by numerous mobile radio and wireless communication technologies. The consequences of this development have also been predicted by the critics for many decades and can now no longer be ignored. Bees and other insects disappear, birds avoid certain areas and are disoriented in other locations. Humans suffer from functional disorders and diseases. And those that are hereditary are passed on to the next generation as existing defects.”

That's the sobering conclusion of years of research by Dr. Ulrich Warnke, an internationally renowned scientist from the University of the Saarland, in his recent report, "Bees, Birds and Mankind – destroying nature by electrosmog".

Microwave radiation from wireless technology causes deleterious health issues.
healthunlocked.com, 3 years ago - Extracts

... When my daughter returned from Italy within 2 weeks she was sick and house bound. She started having severe pressure headaches and she believed her head was going to explode. She had neck pain and face pain. Some days every tooth in her mouth ached and she has lovely teeth, not one cavity. Then her hand started to tremble and she started to have severe dizzy spells and it felt like her heart would stop and jerk her when it started again (arrhythmia). She was afraid to drive the car in case she passed out and killed someone. Then her symptoms started to merge with mine, heart palpitations, muscle and joint pain, severe insomnia, ringing in the ears or sounds of white noise (tinnitus), burning in the back of the head, tingling/itchy/burning skin, chest pain, shortness of breath, fatigue, severe memory loss, and extremely poor concentration. It goes without saying we suffered from terrible anxiety.

Mobile Phones and Brain Cancer.  Are You Worried?
by Rick Morton, mamamia.com, 8 May 2012

Dr Charlie Teo isn’t a kook. He is the best brain surgeon in the country [Australia]. He knows the inside of your head like you know the back of your hand. He’s seen the rise in a certain type of brain cancer.

And he’s worried.

Here’s what some of what he wrote on The Punch yesterday: [We could no longer find this article.]

“There are three undisputed facts about the link between mobile phones and brain tumours. Firstly, the jury is still out. Secondly, the number of mobile phone users is increasing rapidly and currently stands at over five billion worldwide. Thirdly, IF there is a causal link between exposure to non-ionising radiation and brain tumours, then the social and financial consequences would be devastating and on a scale never before witnessed in history.
