Philippe Hug, tireless fighter against the disease-causing cell phone radiation and for a livable world, is no longer with us. On 22 April 2010 his soul left his earthly body unexpectedly early, just a few days before his 54th birthday. His last seven years were devoted to raise awareness of its French-speaking fellow citizens about
the gradual destruction of life by promoting the steady growth of the electromagnetic radiation.

Philippe spirited cries of alarm had a direct connection to his own painful experiences. Six years ago he had to flee the first time because on a church in the nearby canton of Vaud Village mobile antennas were installed. In another small village on the border to France, he found an apartment with very little radiation. He recovered quickly. But several months later at a nearby school the first mast was built in the village.

His journey in France will last 10 days and will include a visit to Fessenheim. At each stage of the journey, he will talk about what a nuclear catastrophe is really like: loss of his land, the disappearance of his community, the abandonment of animals and respect for life, the deterioration of health, exile without the possibility of return.

Of a world where no one can live, where the damage of the technology we are addicted to, not only destroys us, but tortures us – and becomes an unbearable place to live … where the greed of people who make billions of dollars from us on technological, microwave devices, have burdened and enslaved us with no place to run and no place to hide… and with no place to live.

A major article on electrosensitivity, “Noi ‘intossicati’ dal wireless”, was recently published in a newspaper from Italian-speaking Switzerland. It comprises several parts, the testimonies of two electrosensitive persons, a researcher, an expert in measuring non-ionizing radiation, and an oncologist. In addition, it states many of the recommendations of the Federal Office of Public Health, advising precautionary measures to take in the use of wireless technology. Below are near-verbatim excerpts from the article, thanks to the Google translation.

The journalist, Simonetta Caratti, is to be praised for her balanced presentation of the issue of the health effects of wireless technology and electrosensitivity. It was disappointing, however to note that an eminent oncologist played down the carcinogenic risks of such technology, saying that they are not as great as those of smoking, alcohol abuse, obesity, exposure to radon, infections. The authorities and medical profession seem to consider cancer “prevention” as an individual responsibility, namely lifestyle, not the responsibility of industry which is polluting our environment, the major cause of cancer.

It has been three years since the World Health Organization shocked the medical community by warning that exposure to microwave radiation from wireless devices might increase our cancer risk. If the same elite cancer specialists were to meet again today, the warning would be upgraded from a “possible carcinogen” to a “probable carcinogen.” That is according to Professor Emeritus Anthony Miller, of the University of Toronto, who was speaking recently to Toronto’s Public Works and Infrastructure Committee. Swisscom Admits that Wi-Fi Can Harm People ?

UPDATE 18 February 2017:  In a recent letter, the CEO of Swisscom,  Mr. Urs Scheppi, states:
"Swisscom distances itself in every form from the claims in the justification for Patent WO / 2004/075583 and has consequently withdrawn this. We regret that this passage with the false statement found its way into one of our patents and has led to misunderstandings."  (Google translate)

ARTICLE Re-posted 2 February 2014:  Swisscom reveals the true DANGER of WiFi in a patent application filed in September 2004 (click here for full text). Swisscom is the leading telecom provider in Switzerland. It devised a way to reduce the microwave radiation from WiFi (also known as WLAN or wireless local area network). In its patent application, Swisscom clearly states the elevated risk of cancer and genetic damage from the constant low level microwave/RF exposure from WiFi. Prof. Olle Johansson:  "I am worried [about the effects of mobile phone radiation on health] and I question myself why there is no responsibility for testing this kind of things before the introduction of it in society? These gadgets, wireless internet and so on are no life necessities. Not like food and shelter which are life necessities. You can live without a mobile phone and wireless internet and therefore it is not too bad to wait with the introduction of them until we know for sure it is safe. This must change!

The safety of using hands-free equipment? "Industry believes the hands-free mode must be much better and less harmful. But they don’t seem to realize that it is as harmful but causing problems at another site than the head. By using it hands-free you decrease the amount of radiation on your head 100-fold, but while holding it in your hand away from your head, it is mostly closer to your abdomen, where your ovaries, testicles, intestines and organs are, where the radiation is increased a 100-fold."...

"Some argue that the radiation of a microwave oven is much stronger and that the radiation of a mobile phone is not heating up our flesh like a microwave oven would. But it is important to realize that these two systems are very different. The microwave oven is a CLOSED system, the radiation won’t get out, while the mobile phone is an OPEN system, constantly next to your body with radiation strong enough to travel many kilometers."

Twisted Comparisons

As a preliminary to my discussion of the latest pro-nuclear sewage spill, “Pandora’s Promise”, we have to get down to the basics – in part because pro-nukers prefer to make things hyper-biased and convoluted with complexity, factual omission and total bovine scat.

Remember, not all Bequerels are created equal. We learn in middle school you can’t compare apples to oranges, and yet pro-nuclear “scientists” continue to compare bananas to cesium, plutonium and uranium. The decay rate of radioactive potassium in bananas is absolutely harmless and will not cause death by a thousand cuts like the hyper-excited elements in industrial nuclear experimentation. You can’t compare bananas to a triple meltout, including one MOX fueled reactor among them!
