This second edition will have a European focus: we will welcome MEP Michèle Rivasi, and the umbrella association/federation of associations Europeans for Safe Connections (ESC) and its (future) members, to create more links between our different common struggles across borders, as well as to make our messages visible to the European institutions in Brussels. It is therefore a pleasure to invite them to the event so that they can present the project to the EHS people present.

Abstract

In this case report we present a woman aged 52 years who developed health problems consistent with the microwave syndrome after installation of a 5G base station facing her apartment at 60 meters’ distance. These symptoms consisted of e.g., headache, dizziness, concentration difficulties, fatigue, arrhythmia, skin burning and nose bleeding corresponding to the microwave syndrome. High radiofrequency (RF) radiation levels were measured in her apartment especially in the part closest to the base station. In her living room at the window 17 500 to 758 000 μW/m2 peak levels were obtained during 10 measurements, each over 1 minute. At the place of her sofa in her living room peak levels from 36 800 to 222 000 μW/m2 were measured. It is noteworthy that very high radiation was found at the balcony facing the base station. All ten measurements at that place yielded within 10-15 seconds peak levels >2 500 000 μW/m2, which is the highest measurable level with the meter used in this study. At the playground about 40 meters from the base station peak levels of 1 120 000 μW/m2 and 479 000 μW/m2 were measured, respectively. After temporarily leaving the apartment for another dwelling with much lower RF radiation, 96 to 2 810 μW/m2 peak levels, almost all symptoms disappeared within a short time. After moving back to her own apartment the symptoms reappeared. This study is in line with the results of our two previous case studies showing that installation of 5G caused an extreme increase in exposure and rapid development of the microwave syndrome. These case studies indicate that implementation of 5G cannot be done without the risk of harmful effects on human health.

Wangen City Implements Nightly WiFi Shutdown To Address Electrosensitivity

The public WLAN in the Upper Swabian town of Wangen has been being switched off daily from 11 p.m. to 5 a.m. this month. The city administration wants to enable people who feel negatively influenced by the WLAN to have a good night’s sleep. The “Alliance for Responsible Mobile Communications” campaigned, and an agreement was quickly reached with the city administration. Wangen limited the temporary shutdown to the hotspots in the old town, where the number of accesses in the relevant time was low anyway.

In Ravensburg, about 30 km from Wangen, there are similar plans to relieve people who feel electrosensitive. The city wants to comply with the requests of a citizens’ group that deals with the issue of mobile phone radiation to switch off the public WLAN at night. The city intends to switch off the hotspots from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m., making a contribution to minimizing overall radiation exposure.

There are now 41 models of mobile phones, identified as dangerous for the health of users, which have either been withdrawn from the French market, or have had their Specific Absorption Rate (SAR) subject to a software update. The latest: the Essential Clap 20+ (Boulanger), the Xiaomi Poco X3 and the Logicom Le Swipe.

Be careful if you have an Essential Clap 20+, you have until June 30, 2023 to bring it back to Boulanger!

In a press release dated April 4, 2023, the National Frequency Agency (ANFR) announced that the SAR measurement tests of the Essentiel Clap 20+ mobile phone model did not respect the regulatory limits for the trunk (2 .73 W/kg instead of 2W/kg) and limbs (4.14W/kg instead of 4W/kg).

The FCC guidelines for public radiation exposure were established over two decades ago before wireless technology infiltrated our neighborhoods, homes and even the sanctity of our bodies.

CHD Petitions FCC to ‘Quit Stalling’ on Court Order to Address Harmful Effects of Wireless Radiation

Children’s Health Defense (CHD) on Tuesday petitioned the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) to “quit stalling” and comply with a court-ordered mandate to explain how the agency determined its current guidelines adequately protect humans and the environment against harmful effects of exposure to radiofrequency (RF) radiation.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the D.C. Circuit issued the mandate on Aug. 13, 2021, when it ruled the FCC failed to consider the non-cancer evidence of adverse health effects related to wireless technology when the agency determined its 1996 health and safety guidelines regarding wireless-based technologies adequately protected public health.

The ruling stemmed from CHD’s historic win in a case challenging the FCC’s decision not to review the 1996 guidelines.

The FCC has taken no action to comply with the court’s ruling, prompting CHD to threaten further legal action.

Not everybody wants a 5G cell site on a 30-foot pole in front of their home. This is the story of Moira Hahn and Mark Hotchkiss of Long Beach, California, who appealed successfully against the permit for the 5G cell site.

"Hahn had long suffered from serious migraines that forced her into retirement after years of teaching art at a nearby college.

In the days after they received the notice in the mail [informing them that the lamppost outside their home would soon be equipped with a wireless transmission facility], Hahn decided to consult her doctor about her migraines again. It was during that consultation that he suggested her migraines could be related to something called electromagnetic hypersensitivity, or EHS.

“My doctor started to say, ‘What about t Wi-Fi? You know, that could cause it. Try to get rid of all your cellular stuff, get rid of the walk around phones.’” Hahn said.

ICBE-EMF, Tucson, AZ, April 4, 2023 -- Six simple engineering fixes could dramatically reduce radiation emitted by cellphones according to a group of scientists. The fixes are easy to implement, and in one case the fix relies on technology already patented by the industry.

The International Commission on the Biological Effects of Electromagnetic Fields (ICBE-EMF) reported its findings today in an open access, peer-reviewed article, "Cell Phone Radiation Exposure Limits and Engineering Solutions," published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health.

They don’t get cancer. They have been around for 365 million years, and have survived four mass extinctions during the history of life on Earth. Yet today, they are disappearing more rapidly than any other class of animals. By their death, they are screaming: Turn off your cell phones! Now, before it is too late!

Even before cell phones, the proliferation of radio  and TV towers, radar stations, and communication antennas in the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s began killing off these most hardy, well-adapted, and important forms of life.
