Creation of ARIEM (Association for Research at International Level on EHS and MCS)
phonegatealert.org/en, 31 May 2022

Today in France, there are approximately 3 million people suffering from electrohypersensitivity (EHS). The National Agency for Food, Environmental and Occupational Health and Safety (ANSES) estimated in its opinion and report of March 13, 2018, that 5% of the population is concerned. Our country is not the only one affected. All over the world, people with EHS face significant difficulties in medical care and the persistence of symptoms can only aggravate this pathology. Moreover, in nearly 25% of cases (source ECERI), EHS is associated with MCS (multiple chemical sensitivity). It is therefore essential to develop medical and scientific research on these two pathologies – EHS and MCS.

Effects of Radiofrequency Radiation on the Nervous System

Effects of radiofrequency radiation on the nervous system An EWG fact sheet
By Uloma Uche, Ph.D, ewg.org, 26 May 2022

Radiofrequency radiation is a type of electromagnetic field that is emitted by wireless devices like cell phones, tablets and Wi-Fi routers. It’s absorbed by the human body and absorbed by the bodies of children more than adults. Along with the skyrocketing use of wireless devices, research on laboratory animals shows that exposure to radiofrequency radiation affects the nervous system and brain function.

EWG’s scientists reviewed the most recent research on the effects of radiofrequency radiation. In our fact sheet, we’ve summarized these effects and some of the ways radiofrequency radiation can harm the nervous system.

While he praises the benefits of 5G for industry and the population in an interview with 20 minutes, Urs Schaeppi is reluctant to install an antenna in front of his home. A statement that angers the reader Franz Lienert, where an antenna was built right in front of his balcony.

Text of video: At the start of the week, the CEO of Swisscom, a big defender of 5G, made an astonishing statement in an interview accorded by 20 Minutes.

Urs Schaeppi, Director of Swisscom: "No, of course, I also don't want a 5G antenna in front of my livingroom. That isn't what we do. We try to install antennas on industrial buildings, not in residential neighborhoods."

A statement that doesn't go down well with one reader, Franz Lienert: "The Director of Swisscom doesn't want an antenna in front of his home. But they have placed one 18 meters from the front of my livingroom."

Lienert considers this remark to be pure egotism on the part of the CEO. Contacted, Swisscom relativizes Urs Schaeppi's statement. According to the company, he was referring to the aesthetic nature of the antennas and not to their radiation. Lienert, who has lodged an opposition against the antenna without success, would like the CEO of Swisscom to exercise more restraint next time.

“The Stockholm Declaration about ‘Life EMC' ”, by Olle Johansson

“The Stockholm Declaration about ‘Life EMC' ”
by Olle Johansson, Bee Culture Magazine 2022; May issue: 56-61, May 26, 2022 **

All around the world dramatic reductions in pollinating insect populations are noted, for instance in Germany, in 2017, where more than 75% of them were reported just gone, and recently the media have reported a more than 90% reduction of the bumblebee populations in the USA (2021). Many beekeepers can also witness similar decreases in honey bee populations as well as in other insect groups, and so can the ordinary citizens.

I am particularly concerned about this problem, and I already have a number of papers dealing with the impact of artificial electromagnetic fields (EMFs) from wireless communication such as cell phones, WiFi systems, tablets, baby alarms, smart meters, laptops and more, especially on honey bees (see e.g. Johansson O, “To bee, or not to bee, that is the five “G” question,” Newsvoice. se 28/5, 2019.  I also know that other areas around the world have reported extensive bee colony collapses, and my strong effort now is to seek ways to conserve, protect and enhance our pollinators, wherever they reside, and thus conserve, protect and enhance ourselves, and our coming generations. If we do not engage, then we certainly may head towards a moment in history where future generations - if any - will ask us “Why didn’t you react and act?”

Abstract

Much of the controversy over the cause of electrohypersensitivity (EHS) lies in the absence of recognized clinical and biological criteria for a widely accepted diagnosis. However, there are presently sufficient data for EHS to be acknowledged as a distinctly well-defined and objectively characterized neurologic pathological disorder. Because we have shown that 1) EHS is frequently associated with multiple chemical sensitivity (MCS) in EHS patients, and 2) that both individualized disorders share a common pathophysiological mechanism for symptom occurrence; it appears that EHS and MCS can be identified as a unique neurologic syndrome, regardless its causal origin. In this overview we distinguish the etiology of EHS itself from the environmental causes that trigger pathophysiological changes and clinical symptoms after EHS has occurred. Contrary to present scientifically unfounded claims, we indubitably refute the hypothesis of a nocebo effect to explain the genesis of EHS and its presentation. We as well refute the erroneous concept that EHS could be reduced to a vague and unproven “functional impairment”. To the contrary, we show here there are objective pathophysiological changes and health effects induced by electromagnetic field (EMF) exposure in EHS patients and most of all in healthy subjects, meaning that excessive non-thermal anthropogenic EMFs are strongly noxious for health. In this overview and medical assessment we focus on the effects of extremely low frequencies, wireless communications radiofrequencies and microwaves EMF. We discuss how to better define and characterize EHS. Taken into consideration the WHO proposed causality criteria, we show that EHS is in fact causally associated with increased exposure to man-made EMF, and in some cases to marketed environmental chemicals. We therefore appeal to all governments and international health institutions, particularly the WHO, to urgently consider the growing EHS-associated pandemic plague, and to acknowledge EHS as a new real EMF causally-related pathology.

United Kingdom: Court of Appeal Green Lights Anti-5G Case against Government

Court of Appeal Green Lights Anti-5G Case against Govt

Court finds 5G launch did not advise public about claimed health effects

The Court of Appeal this week has granted permission for a case brought by anti-5G pressure group Action Against 5G case to proceed.

The Court of Appeal decided there were two grounds for the case to go ahead. One was the alleged failure to provide adequate or effective information to the public about the risks and how, if it be possible, it might be possible for individuals to avoid or minimise the claimed risks.

The second was “the failure to provide adequate and sufficient reasons for not establishing a process to investigate and establish the adverse health effects and risks of adverse health effects from 5G technology and/or for discounting the risks presented by the evidence available; and/or failure to meet the requirements of transparency and openness required of a public body”.

Abstract

The MOBI-Kids case-control study on wireless phone use and brain tumor risk in childhood and adolescence included the age group 10–24 years diagnosed between 2010 and 2015. Overall no increased risk was found although for brain tumors in the temporal region an increased risk was found in the age groups 10–14 and 20–24 years. Most odds ratios (ORs) in MOBI-Kids were <1.0, some statistically significant, suggestive of a preventive effect from RF radiation; however, this is in contrast to current knowledge about radiofrequency (RF) carcinogenesis. The MOBI-Kids results are not biologically plausible and indicate that the study was flawed due to methodological problems. For example, not all brain tumor cases were included since central localization was excluded. Instead, all brain tumor cases should have been included regardless of histopathology and anatomical localization. Only surgical controls with appendicitis were used instead of population-based controls from the same geographical area as for the cases. In fact, increased incidence of appendicitis has been postulated to be associated with RF radiation which makes selection of control group in MOBI-Kids questionable. Start of wireless phone use up to 10 years before diagnosis was in some analyses included in the unexposed group. Thus, any important results demonstrating late carcinogenesis, a promoter effect, have been omitted from analysis and may underestimate true risks. Linear trend was in some analyses statistically significant in the calculation of RF-specific energy and extremely low frequency (ELF)-induced current in the center of gravity of the tumor. Additional case-case analysis should have been performed. The data from this study should be reanalyzed using unconditional regression analysis adjusted for potential confounding factors to increase statistical power. Then all responding cases and controls could be included in the analyses. In sum, we believe the results as reported in this paper seem uninterpretable and should be dismissed.

SAR tests of smartphones: the credibility of UFC-Que Choisir in question
Equipe Phonegate 16 May 2022

UFC-Que Choisir (UFC) has entrusted an independent specialized laboratory with the task of measuring the specific absorption rates (SAR) of a dozen reconditioned smartphones (iPhone 11 and Galaxy S9). The results of these measurements were published in April 2022 in an article in issue 612 of its monthly magazine, entitled “Reconditioned smartphones: too powerful emissions?”. According to information sent to Phonegate Alert, the consumer association UFC would not have accurately reported the results of the SAR tests conducted by the laboratory.

Thus, in this article, the authors, UFC journalists Camille Gruhier and Vincent Erpelding, did not hesitate to conclude that:

“All the reconditioned smartphones revealed SARs below the regulatory limit.”

iPhone 11 tested: some SARs exceed the regulatory limit

Mobi-kids: a Study Infiltrated by the Mobile Phone Industry

Mobi-kids: a study infiltrated by the mobile phone industry
Equipe Phonegate 13 May 2022

Our investigation into the conflicts of interest of the authors of the Mobi-kids study [which analyzes the impact of wireless phones on the risk of brain tumors in young people] has now shown that ten of the eighteen people in charge of measuring the exposure of patients worked directly or indirectly for the mobile phone industry.

What is now also evident in the organization of this study are the proven conflicts of interest with the mobile phone industry of ISGlobal, the Institute of Global Health of Barcelona (which, according to their website, includes the banking foundation “la Caixa“, academic institutions and government agencies).

ISGlobal, la Caixa and financial ties to the mobile phone industry

In fact, that is where the problem lies because, according to the Wikipedia entry on “la Caixa“, there are several close financial ties with mobile phone companies such as Cellnex telecom and Telefónica :
