Billionaires Blast into Space as Billions Suffer on Planet Earth

Billionaires blast into space as billions suffer on planet Earth
oxfam.org, 19 July 2021

In response to Jeff Bezos’ space flight scheduled for Tuesday, Deepak Xavier, Oxfam International's Global Head of Inequality Campaign, said:

“We’ve now reached stratospheric inequality. Billionaires burning into space, away from a world of pandemic, climate change and starvation. 11 people are likely now dying of hunger each minute while Bezos prepares for an 11-minute personal space flight. This is human folly, not human achievement.

"The ultra-rich are being propped up by unfair tax systems and pitiful labor protections. US billionaires got around $1.8 trillion richer since the beginning of the pandemic and nine new billionaires were created by Big Pharma’s monopoly on the COVID-19 vaccines. Bezos pays next to no US income tax but can spend $7.5 billion on his own aerospace adventure. Bezos' fortune has almost doubled during the COVID-19 pandemic. He could afford to pay for everyone on Earth to be vaccinated against COVID-19 and still be richer than he was when the pandemic began.

United States: Environmental Working Group Study: Wireless Radiation Exposure for Children Should Be Hundreds of Times Lower than Current Federal Limits

The Environmental Working Group’s new guidelines, the first developed in the U.S. to focus on children’s health, recommend that children’s exposure overall be 200 to 400 lower than the whole-body exposure limit set by the FCC in 1996.

Study: Wireless radiation exposure for children should be hundreds of times lower than current federal limits
Press Release, ewg.org, 20 July 2021

WASHINGTON – A peer-reviewed study by the Environmental Working Group recommends stringent health-based exposure standards for both children and adults for radiofrequency radiation emitted from wireless devices. EWG’s children’s guideline is the first of its kind and fills a gap left by federal regulators.

The study, published in the journal Environmental Health, relies on the methodology developed by the Environmental Protection Agency to assess human health risks arising from toxic chemical exposures. EWG scientists have applied the same methods to radiofrequency radiation from wireless devices,

"While the car is in use, a person sits on a giant battery and the vehicle emits large amounts of low frequency electric and magnetic field (EMF) radiation," the complaint alleged.

A lawsuit against a major automaker has revved its way to the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of Georgia, after a driver claimed his vehicle’s battery exposed him to long-term health issues, disrupted his marriage and cost him his job.

As spotted on Law.com Radar, Josef Tater of Cobb County has filed a product liability lawsuit against Nissan North America Inc.

The Critical Importance of Molecular Biomarkers and Imaging in the Study of Electrohypersensitivity. A Scientific Consensus International Report

Prof. Dominique Belpomme
NOTE (by Jean Hudon, Québec, http://www.cqlpe.ca/): This paper — published on July 7 by an international group of 30 co-authors led by Dominique Belpomme and Philippe Irigaray — does NOT call for medicalization of electrohypersensitivity, (i.e. giving medication to treat the symptoms while ignoring the high environmental levels of EMF mechanisms that are causing the functional disability).

This paper simply states that this physical condition that patients are complaining of needs to be taken seriously by medical professionals and researched like any other medical or biological condition; and that it cannot be just "excused" as psychological or psychosomatic, based on faulty (and industry-funded) provocation studies.

United States: 67 Groups Representing More Than 1 Million People File Amicus Brief in Support of CHD’s Lawsuit Against FCC

67 Groups Representing More Than 1 Million People File Amicus Brief in Support of CHD’s Lawsuit Against FCC
By Dafna Tachover, Esq, Children's Health Defense, 6 July 2021

The organizations allege the FCC refused to acknowledge significant policy, legal and practical problems associated with a new rule amendment allowing fixed wireless companies to contract with private property owners to place point-to-point antennas on their property.

Sixty-seven U.S. organizations representing more than 1 million people signed onto an amicus brief in support of Children’s Health Defense’s (CHD) lawsuit challenging the Federal Communication Commission’s (FCC) “Over-the-Air Reception Devices” (OTARD) Rule Amendment. The amicus was filed June 30, in the U.S. Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Circuit. CHD filed its main brief on June 23.

An amicus brief is filed by non-parties to a litigation to provide information that has a bearing on the issues and assist the court in reaching the correct decision. It comes from the latin words amici curiae, which means “friend of the court.”

Switzerland: Popular Initiative for Mobile Phone Accountability

UPDATE (7 July): The Swiss popular initiative for mobile phone accountability was handed over to the Chancellerie in Bern on 5 July 2021. The final count of signatures was 92,000, just 8,000 short of the 100,000 required to launch a referendum.  A big "thank you" to all those who collected the signatures.

Why the initiative? (translation)

Because the Confederation does not protect us
The Confederation has no interest in protecting the population from health damage caused by mobile telephony, since it owns 51% of the shares of SWISSCOM. Thus, economic interests take precedence. So far it has suggested that the operator of a mobile telephone station is not responsible if this station is operated fairly according to the legislation in force (limit values).

Because limit values do not protect us
The limit values only protect against heat caused by mobile telephony within 30 minutes. Long-term effects exceeding 30 minutes and all biological effects, up to cancer, are not taken into account. Just as the harmfulness of radioactive radiation cannot be measured and determined with a thermometer, so can the harmfulness of mobile phone radiation.

Cellphone Radiation is Harmful: Interview with Dr. Joel Moscowitz, UC Berkeley

Please share widely this excellent interview with Dr. Joel Moscowitz, School of Public Health at UC Berkeley and director of Berkeley’s Center for Family and Community Health.

Moskowitz: Cellphone radiation is harmful, but few want to believe it
By Anne Brice, Berkeley News| JULY 1, 2021

For more than a decade, Joel Moskowitz, a researcher in the School of Public Health at UC Berkeley and director of Berkeley’s Center for Family and Community Health, has been on a quest to prove that radiation from cellphones is unsafe. But, he said, most people don’t want to hear it.

“People are addicted to their smartphones,” said Moskowitz. “We use them for everything now, and, in many ways, we need them to function in our daily lives. I think the idea that they’re potentially harming our health is too much for some people.”

Education secretary wants ban on mobile phones in English schools
by Sally Weale Education correspondent, The Guardian, 29 June 2021

Gavin Williamson launches consultation on behaviour, but unions say it is an attempt to distract from government’s Covid failures

Mobile phones could be banned in schools as part of a government clampdown on poor discipline in classrooms in England.

The education secretary, Gavin Williamson, said he wants a ban on mobile phones as he launched a consultation on pupil behaviour and discipline in schools. He said he wanted to make the school day “mobile-free” to help ensure that classrooms remain calm and pupils can overcome the impact of the pandemic.

“Mobile phones are not just distracting, but when misused or overused, they can have a damaging effect on a pupil’s mental health and wellbeing,” the education secretary said. “I want to put an end to this, making the school day mobile-free.”

On June 23, Children’s Health Defense (CHD) filed the opening brief in its case against the Federal Communications Commission’s (FCC) “Over-the-Air Reception Devices” (OTARD) Rule Amendment, which went into effect March 29. This submission is the main brief for CHD in the case it filed on Feb. 2 in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the DC Circuit.

CHD will hold an information and Q&A session about the brief this Wednesday, June 30 at 11:30 a.m. PT/2:30 p.m. ET. Register here.

CHD is opposing the OTARD rule amendment, which allows fixed wireless companies to contract with private property owners, including homeowners, to place point-to-point antennas on their property. The rule also allows wireless companies to add carrier-grade base station antenna installations on private property to extend wireless voice/video/data service, including 5G and Internet-of-Things antennas, to users over a wide area.

SMARTPHONE WAVES WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

In “Phonegate” (Massot ed.), Dr. Marc Arazi denounces the overexposure to electromagnetic waves from smartphones. A health scandal.

By Dr. Philippe Gorny

Paris Match. Why this book?

Dr. Marc Arazi.
On July 8, 2016, a report by the French National Health Security Agency (ANSES) revealed, based on tests conducted on 95 phones by the National Frequency Agency (ANFR), that 90% of the devices emit electromagnetic radiation (EMR) that goes beyond authorized standards if used in contact with the body. In these conditions, those of real life, exposure to EMR can exceed up to ten times the value indicated in the instructions for use. Until 2016, to remain within the standards, manufacturers were testing smartphones at a distance of 1.5 to 2.5 centimeters from the skin, becoming the perpetrators of a widespread deception. I then asked ANFR to send me the detailed test reports. I was able to obtain them at the cost of a difficult legal battle. Obviously, ANFR has knowingly kept secret since 2012 a defect dangerous for the population, allowing manufacturers to avoid legal action led by millions of users.
